Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

The unfortunate JKU & JLU of the day thread

Wearing the proverbial white douche goggles.
What's hp with the headlights?
Has has a winch.. to pull him off the curb stop he got hung up on with those awful side steps.
Fire extinguisher to put out the smoldering cigarette butt at the mall parking lot
Love to see what badges he has..
Can't see it too clearly but that looks like a double steering stabilizer

This is fun one..
And what's going on with the Jeep logo on the side? Is that the Matrix.=>

So what's douchier, the white goggles or the white sneaker sticking out the tube half door?

This one is sitting in our shop, electrical problems and oil cooler coolant line leaking. If that's not bad enough the guy just bought it in Florida and had to have it delivered to us because he didn't make it 10 miles from the purchase site.

And yes it has 37's on the rear and 35's on the front.

Just an update on this unfortunate JK buyer.

After purchase price of $9800.00 getting ripped off by a dealership in Florida for $1000.00 for 5 hours diag.

Shipping to Chattanooga. A new Wranglerfix PCM, new gauge cluster, rebuilt ABS module, water pump, replace oil cooler coolant line, #3 injector, 1 coil pack, reprogram ABS module, brakes and rotors all the way around, rear axle seal, wheel studs and lug nuts, rear wheel speed sensors, new lower intake and i am probably forgetting some stuff.

He is in it for around $25,000.00.

All because it had a good paint job.

If he had done what I suggested and called @AndyG friend at Gilbert Jeeps he could have gotten his son a low mileage TJ for less dollars and his son really wanted a TJ.

If he had called me before he purchased this piece of junk, I would have told him to run away from it.

A fool and his money, so they say...
The customer is always right; even when they aren't.

The way Stellantis is chopping prices, he could probably soon get a brand new one for $25k 🤪

There's a brand new 2 door Sport locally for $32k.

Not that it might be any better :p

I just looked at the Koons site and most of the Wranglers are $18k off MSRP.

I feel sorry for those who recently purchased a new Stellantis product.

When you paid $60k for something and then a few months later it's available brand new for MANY thousands less, it brings a new definition to the term ""1st year depreciation"

Edit: This got me wondering and I wandered the new Wrangler forums for a bit.

Wrangler service technician quote: "The most reliable part of a new Chrysler/Jeep vehicle is the rental you are driving while it's in the shop"

My buddy made the classic mistakes when buying from an individual.

1. He took his wife
2. He didn't have a scan tool
3. He trusted the seller
4. He didn't test drive it further than around the block.
5. He didn't trust his son who had been on every Jeep forum and decided he wanted a TJ because they were less problematic.

And dang he didn't phone a friend before he purchased it!!!!!!!

Had to add the only pic of the wheels. I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure what I'm looking at...

ICYDK
They're known as reverse drop centers...
1, they are known to EAT bearings worse than the sketchiest wheel spacer combinations you can conceive.
2, They SUCK A$$ when it comes to mounting and dismounting tires because the face of the wheel is the part that gets clamped by the tire machine. So you have to use special guards on the clamps so you don't damace the wheel and it's a huge PITA...

I was thinking:

1. Looks like an AI generated image.

2. Some idiotic new trend.
