Not sure if anyone’s posted this before but I found what look to be some Mopar fuel pumps on eBay.

I thought I needed one because of a slow crank but I just found out if I let the pump build pressure for 3 seconds before cranking, she starts right up. Oh well, at least I have a mopar one for when I need it.

Anyways, thought I’d share in case anyone might need one.

They’re expensive at $360 and the seller was pretty tight lipped when I was asking about them to try and be sure they were genuine. I compared the one I received to pictures of different fuel pumps on RockAuto and at the very least it’s not the same as any of those.

Seems pretty sketchy. Another possible culprit of the long crank / fuel pressure bleed issue is the fuel pressure regulator.
 
Yeah I seriously doubt they're genuine. I'd contact the seller and have a long conversation. Sure it's possible someone stumbled on a cache of new old stock pumps...but most folks are just stickering up junk and scamming folks.

Yeah I suspect that’s the culprit. From the threads I looked at it seemed like the pump went not too long after replacing the FPR and I don’t think I want to do the job twice haha. With my luck the fix will last a week before I have to drop the tank again and just change out the whole assembly.

This was my fear but after looking at the photos of pumps by other manufacturers and comparing it to a couple of mopar pumps I could find online I’m decently convinced. I guess we’ll find out when I eventually install it and see how long it lasts haha.
 
If Mopar isn't stamped on the part somewhere, I return them. Too easy to slap a decal on anything. Most of the stuff I order is sealed in a Mopar bag.

Yeah that’s my main concern as well. My best reference is this other eBay ad for a used mopar pump:

It doesn’t have mopar stamped anywhere on it either other than the tag. If anyone has pictures of a confirmed OEM pump I’d love to see them and I can confirm if these are legit since I have one from the seller in hand right now.

Those photos could be from anywhere.

I put a Rock Auto sourced Brute Power fuel pump on my 97. Still works great 6 months later. Drove all the way from Oregon to the Rubicon Trail and home and zero issues. Less than $100.

In case anyone stumbles on this in the future with pictures of a confirmed OEM one, for comparison the one from the eBay link has this etching and sticker. I may update this thread myself in the future when I swap it but that might not be for a while.

I totally get this angle as well but I’m neurotic so I try and keep replacements mopar when I can.

Thanks for posting the link, bought their last one earlier today. I too like to buy Mopar if possible. Especially if it’s been discontinued.

My dad was the original owner of my 02 TJ, I kept it after he passed 11 years ago as that was his wish for the jeep.

So tho I know there’s cheaper options out there on parts. I choose to buy Mopar. 🤙
