The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

I just don’t get why people spend money on crap that adds absolutely no performance value to their TJ. I could not even guess what they spent on that crap. They should have spent the money on decent tires and wheels.

Interesting build.
I wonder how the frame was stretched...

And my quick math adds it up like this:
Donor TJ - $10K
Wheels/tires/rear doors - $6k
Chevy V8 motor - $5k
$21K invested before the project even began, and that doesn't include interior, driveline, lift, winch, etc.

Even if a lot of these parts were reused from the original donor TJ, the labor to put it all together had to cost more than what they stand to earn from the sale.

I don't hate it, but that sure is a lot of work and money to be running a 35. An LS, 37s and the extra weight, I'm surprised that 35 is still there.

Someone like @Chris could have made use of this since the doors would provide better accessibility to the back seat for his kiddos. While it looks too long for my taste because it needs bigger tires (thus, bigger axles), I like it more than many of the current 4-doors out there.

I assumed the rear was a Chevy 10-bolt...I pray it's a Super 35.

I like it better than any JK or JL 4 door. A good set of ECGS axles and that is the best Wrangler available for that money.

They've got a lot more in it, if it was all done right, than the cost to build it.

Looks like a 35 to me.

Yea I think you are right.

Even if it is/was a 10-bolt, it probably wouldn’t be any stronger.

My guess is that a Dana 35 isn't as strong, but neither are a good idea. The only reason I say that is because I abused a 10-bolt running 36s and an Auburn posi being young and dumb. No way a Dana 35 would have held up to my nonense lol.
