FILE - Parnelli Jones dives out of his car after it caught fire in the pits during the Indianapolis 500 auto race May 30, 1964. He suffered burns and was hospitalized but was not seriously hurt. Jones, the 1963 Indy 500 winner, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Torrance (Calif.) Memorial Medical Center after a battle with Parkinson's disease, his son said. Jones was 90. (AP Photo, File)

Though I wasn't familiar with the story or the photo, it was pretty obvious that there was a fire from the heat waves (or whatever they're called). Few things in life will make a man move like fire. Anyways, he lived to race another day, and lead a long life. RIP, Mr. Jones.

In the spirit of D-Day I'll repost my great uncle who was in the air somewhere (Army Air, B-17 crew). One of his future in-laws, my great-grandfather at 35 years old (Army infantry), was on a ship waiting to go ashore around this time on what I think was the third wave (sometime afternoon on the 6th). June 6 just happened to be my great-grandmothers birthday. He said that was no coincidence. :sneaky:

Triggers my 'gag reflex' . . . . the above vehicle is the pinnacle of automotive stupidity. Three tons empty, and a wtf design. This vehicle is the flagsh!t in the woke/Karen fleet.
