I have them diagrammed on the side of a cabinet as the lower one being out to the radiator and the upper being the return from the radiator. That is based on a diagram I found several years ago but if possible, I'd like something a bit more definitive that just some random diagram drawn by a talented 6 year old.

I've dug through the FSM and if it is in there, I can't find it. Admittedly I did not read every word, but the picture I need wasn't readily available.

Any help? And no, I don't want or need to know which port on the radiator is which. That isn't much help since they switch around. The 32RH is easy since the out is higher pressure so it is a flare fitting with a tube nut and the other one isn't.

I think I need to look up DIY flushing instructions. He is using the same diagram I am. I think the way we figured it out several years ago was to unhook the right side at the radiator and pump it into a bucket.

I looked through my service manual for about 10 minutes, trying to channel my inner chrysler engineer and see if I could find you a diagram. Nothing so far. But...If you need to know where your speed sensors are I can give you about 10 pages where they have that fuckin drawing!

I scanned through the drawings and one would think they would have a simple diagram. They don't seem to somehow.

Attached the 42RLE section here just in case more knowledgeable folks can find that information.

Yeah, what is up with that? Randomly inserted that stupid diagram on every page that has anything to do with the trans.

I found this chart for inline filters

That’s nuts. They certainly got enough diagrams of the input/outpur speed sensors and the transmission pan/filter.

Sounds like you have it figured out but I was thinking if you have someone start it cold and shift it into gear while you are holding the metal parts of the lines in each hand shouldn't you be able to feel the one that heats up first? I do know that fluid coming from the TC while under load heats up really fast in an automatic.

Easier to just disconnect one. Takes about 30 seconds on the 05-06.

This topic has so much conflicting information online .. nuts.

@mrblaine, are all years of the TJ have the same config for which line is which across the years? Or did they do something funky in 05-06 like some older threads are speculating about?

Near as I can there, the most common identification method has been to use left or right at the radiator. That leads to confusion since we don't always know what transmission is being discussed. If we know which port is which on the trans, no more confusion.
