When I removed one of the plastic flares only three of the holes had nutserts. Looks like sheet metal screws were used for those holes without the nutserts, but they are too small.

Should all of the holes have nutserts or do some of them use sheet metal screws instead?

Thanks, Andy

On some parts of my flares, they used one of those metal clamps with the hole on the other side. These seemed to work best as I never loss the nut on those type of fasteners.

OK so these flares have been messed with in the past at some point. I guess the plastic things are gone and sheet metal screws that are too small to actually do anything were used instead.

You forgot to mention that the designer of these deserves to be shot, hanged, castrated and boiled in oil, not necessarily in that order.

I'd be willing to donate to the GoFundMe to make that happen if someone starts one. I'm still waiting on the skin to grow back on my knuckles after removing the rubicon flares from my spare fenders last week. Got the driver side done and called it quits while waiting for the bleeding to stop.

They sell a complete kit for about 25 dollars depending on the route that you want to go. Those things break, vibrate and fall out all the time. Worse is trying to type these replies through all the pop up advertisements on my phone app. They keep popping up right over where you type. Sheesh.

If you plan on keeping your Jeep for awhile and participating on this forum it’s money well spent to become a supporting member. Ask me how I know. I’m not a person that gives my monies up easily so use that for a qualifying statement.

WAIT ! I own a Jeep and want a second one. Or third. Maybe I’ll just shut up. 🤫

Zip ties work fine as well for filling in the holes missing those evil plastic nuts between the existing nutserts.

I installed new nutserts and now I have new flares. I had a couple of spinners with the factory ones, which was annoying, but it's done now. Thanks! Andy
