How well does your GC tow the TJ? Running a weight distribution hitch?

Man, I was wondering the same thing. Very interesting. If I could tow with our GC Hemi it would save me a ton of $$$. I’m pretty sure my limit with the tow package is 7200lb. I’m fortunate this one has the auxiliary cooler too.

My trailer & Jeep weigh approx 6500 lbs and we all know my Jeep is porky... My trailer weighs 1600 lbs empty. I'd say use a U-Haul trailer but adding a weight distribution hitch would be hard.

I asked the same question. She installed a brake controller and purchased the trailer while here. She loaded it on the trailer properly keeping the equalization bars as close to level as possible. Plenty of tongue weight. I advised taking it slow and not let it shift in and out of OD and just drop it in 3rd if it does. She said the hemi did great!

Not sure if there is a cooler installed but that is highly recommended if not.

I want to give out a couple of huge thank yous who made this build possible; Blaine for the early advice, upgrade parts, and Savvy engineering, and Matt for the excellent installation. This is one heck of a TJ and I'm sure she isn't done.

Do you mean adding a weight distribution hitch would “not” be hard?

Ditto to the Thank yous... just wasn't sure if Matt or Blaine would see them here in my build thread. Big Red 2.0 was a success & I am very happy to have her back.

As for the commute, I definitely was "winging it" and asking friends with experience about the trailer/towing. I had used a similar setup with a Uhaul car hauler rental when we moved from FL to NC and the Hemi did fine then. I bought the Trailer in Cali. 8.5ft x 16ft. Trailer & Jeep combo weight under 7000lbs.

I ordered the brake controller and harness from amazon and I went to YouTube university for an install video (I'll add the links below). No weight Distribution Hitch. No Cooler but I'm looking into it (guess I'll have to find another video ;). Luckily the drive was fairly flat and 50% in freezing temperatures.
