All, another thing I noticed once I got my 2006 Jeep Rubi home from the dealer today.. A pretty large puddle of water had formed under the Jeep. I was blasting the AC while driving on the way home, but none of my other trucks/cars in my life have ever dripped this much water before... I felt the liquid and smelt it, and it's definitely water (Not coolant, Not oil, and Not gas). Is this a concern or is this normal and OK to leave as is?

Sounds like the AC drain.

Might want to check the radiator and make sure it's full of coolant.

Or change all the fluids... because you just got it and you don't know if they're the right ones or quantities.

Yup! Just crawled under to check .. All fluid levels are good, and sure enough it's the AC drain like you said. My frame is pretty much rust free except for right underneath that drain .. there's multiple drip lines of surface rust you can see. But the rust pretty much wipes right off, so I think all is good.

That rust concerns me. Seems like it's coming out of the AC drain, not being caused by the water. Rusty water out of the AC drain to means heater core. Also kinda looks like stop leak and not rust.

I'm pretty paranoid...lotta shit is/was wrong on my 97.

It's probably fine. Don't catch my paranoia. You'll sleep at night and not answer forum posts at 3 am.

HAHA .. well, if it is the heater core, is that something I should fix right away?

I'd check the radiator juice and drive it and enjoy it.

If it's the heater core you'll eventually find out more definitely.

Probably just condensation.

Crank up the AC and go wheeling!

Thanks! After more research, it looks like it might be missing the evaporator housing tube .. Mopar part # 56000724AB, it's only $14.63. I am going to try installing that on the drain to see if it helps.

That's not going to help the amount of water coming out of the drain, it will only keep the water that is draining from dripping down the fire wall.

So does yours drip all over your frame then as well? Not an issue?

Mine has the drain tube but the seal around it was bad, so the water would run along the tube and back into the AC housing, which eventually drained into the passengers footwell. I added a short length of clear rubber hose to the end of the drain tube so the water couldn’t run up/back.
