Gearing opinions (I know ANOTHER one) but for a 2.5 with Dana 489's

I read all about the issues with Artec Brackets last night … just got off the phone with ECGS and they said they make their own brackets in house . They mentioned they knew about fitment issues with the Artec Brackets. I’m hoping this isn’t an issue for me . But I’m grateful you shined some light on this for me . It’s definitely going to be something to watch for.

OK
So I wonder if people had asked for Artec brackets? Or maybe they used them for a while?

Hope things work out for you and these bolt in like they are supposed to. Look forward to reading more about your rig & the mighty 4 popper.

I’m hoping they stopped using them and they aren’t blowing smoke at me .

I will definitely keep you guys updated on these … once parts start showing up I’ll create a build thread for you to follow . I’m sure it will get interesting .

I linked the two more recent threads. Now I've read other threads where people were happy with the axles. So maybe these were the few that got thru?
Just trying to help you not have issues later.

BTW, I started with a SE also. I have a V-8 now but there are times I miss my 4 angry squirrels. And there are some other SE owners on here. Check out @ArmyRN he has a really nicely built TJ and has towed a trailer behind it too.
That's me - ArmyRN. 98 TJ 2.5/ five speed, Dana 30 front Aussie locker 27 spline alloy shafts, Dana 44 rear Detroit locker 33 spline alloy shafts. MT Baja Boss AT 285-75-16" (33") tires, 3.5" RE lift. 4.88 gears. Kinda wish I had gone 5.13 gears, but don't remember if that was an option in 2008. I love my lil' four cylinder TJ. Not the greatest on the highway (but totally doable - it'll get you there). But you don't buy these for the highway - you buy and build them for off road and fun.

I have literally criss crossed the country more than once (coast to coast) with this setup (to include doing the TAT), and up into Canada and Alaska. Highway and overlanding both.
