So my new to me LJ has a 4in Spring Lift, no Body Lift, on 32in BFGs. Stock Stamped Control Arms with the stock Trac-Bars and relocation brackets. I'm sure this is less than ideal. I for sure need shocks as they are rusty/crusty and a little suspension refresh for the creaks and groans. I've been lurking and reading a ton of build threads and stickies. But, I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I may keep the 4in springs, but a 2.5in lift would be more for my usage needs: daily driver and backroads, no rocks. If I can get this 4in lift dialed in with a few $$ changes, great I will keep it. But If I have to start completely over $$$$$ I'll just drop down to a 2.5in Old Man Emu or similar.

So in my reading the stock control arms are in many ways superior in design and function. But when you lift that changes the geometry and caster on the front end and in turn handling. 4in seems to be tall for the stock length control arms. I've seen aftermarket fixed tubular control arms sold for a range of lift heights, but many comments about poly and overall cheap bushings. Fully adjustable would be the best, but you really jump in price to get decent bushings and adjustable.

Crown and Omix Ada offer kits for all replacement "stock" control arms for about $350. I've seen them listed as "stock" height or for 0-2.5in of lift, is there a difference? Does a "stock" stamped design control arm exist that is just slightly longer to correct for the caster angle changes with OEM quality bushings? Say for a 3in lift? Seems this would be economical to make and be superior in many ways? Or is there a decent fixed aftermarket arm that has OEM quality bushings?

Did you measure the springs to make sure you’re getting four inches of lift?If nothing was changed except springs and shocks, I would just get some 2.5 inch springs and shocks.

If a longer stamped factory style arm for a TJ exists, I have never seen it. Even if it did exist, whoever makes it would not know what length you or I need.

I thought if the stock arms were "good enough" to run from 0-4in of lift, then some slightly longer stock arms aimed at 3in +/- would be BETTER than "good enough" and might be out there. I'm also open to fixed length aftermarket arms if they offer OEM ride quality if there are suggestions?

Yes i did measure my springs, fronts show approx 16in and rears 12in so a 4in lift.

There is a very wide range of acceptance for what good enough is. Still, no one making fixed length control arms knows what length arm you or I need for our purposes. Then there is the problem of the control arms having nothing to do with the ride quality. That is a shock concern.
