True fog lights - yellow bulb or yellow lens?

Where we live, we get the warm moist air from the Gulf to the south, the cold air down from the north, and various fronts from the west, so fog is pretty common here. I don't go 'off-road', but my Jeep is used on the beach at Padre Island. I wanted to keep the stock driving light look, so I went with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002E2WMVW/?tag=wranglerorg-20 , Hella halogen bulbs. I found that using the white driving light in the fog just reflects back into my face, not so much with the amber / yellow.
 
I suppose it all depends on the definition of "true". I am planning on installing the Rigid 3" SAE yellow lights. I find yellow to be a lot less stressful on my eyes in a heavy fog or snow and the SAE type puts the beam down low where I want it.

Same going over Afton Mountain... needed those little lights down on the painted lane markers quite a few times

There are wrecks up there regular when it gets bad. Back roads up here are often (read most of them) without reflecting anything - signs, lane markers or painted lines. When fog rolls in it's pretty easy to drive off the edge.

Snow is like fog in that you are wanting minimizing glare but I am of a mind that the low placement/ sharp cut off in a fog light lenses is what does most of that. I use yellow bulbs in my factory Hellas however if that were the only aux light I would use white as it has better visibility in non -inclement weather. IMHO
