Best 33” A/T tire for 80% road driving and 20% trail

Hands down Falken Wilderpeak AT3s. I got 33x12.5x15 for $160 a tire and absolutely love them. Not the most aggressive looking tire, but quiet on the road and smooth riding, Off-road, I air down to 12 psi and it is impressive with what it can handle. My jeep is my daily driver, so I only go offroad occasionally, but it always impresses me, and even other people in the club. One of the trail guides one time said he had the same tires on his truck and absolutely loves them as well.

I definitely do some more aggressive offroading (That is available in the NE) and it performs incredibly well.
x2 on the Falken AT3s. I’ve got the same size mounted on Pro Comp 15X8 cast aluminum wheels & they’re great! I wish they came in size 33/10.50R15, but that’s just me. The 12.50s are great. They just sling a lot of mud & beach sand all over.
My TJ had BFG KO2s (same size) mounted on Dick Cepek steel wheels when I bought it & it had a slight shake in the steering wheel until I changed to the Falken mounted on the Pro Comps. Years ago I had a problem with some KO2s on an F-350 that I had. A belt had broken or shifted in one of them & I replaced them all with something else. ‘Not saying that I would never buy another set if BFGs again, but there are plenty of other good choices out there.

I’ve been running on duratracs at 26 lbs, road and trail what’s the proper air pressure for trail ? No snow, not much mud, like to climb some rocks (mild) lots or gravel and sand on the trails we have tried here near Mesa. Does that info help ?
Ya, absolutely. I'd run those duratracs pretty low on the trail. Below 15 for sure, maybe 10 if you have a good gauge, 8 in sand. You'll do fine on those if they make 33s, I don't know. I think K02 would be a step down from what you are running but it's not all bad, I think they would work and look good too. You could run a General ATX or even a more mild tire at the right pressure on the trail and be fine too. From what you describe any AT will be fine, it's all about looks and cost. They aren't really that much different as far as how it sounds you are going to use them.

I have pro comp 15x8 Steel rims, got them for $50 a pop, and being a college student, I had to. Love the classic look, have a slight vibe at about 70mph since steel rims are hard to balance, but absolutely love the falkens... Sweet rig.

I'm a big fan of the KO2s I have on mine. Duratracs were one I considered since they're quite good in the snow if that's a concern of yours. KO2s did just fine in the snow for me too.

I've run KO2 on my Jeep and currently on my wife's 4runner. They're quiet and well mannered enough to be daily driven on the street and the only times I failed making an obstacle was more due to driver skill or lacking a front locker. I also really like that they come in 33x10.5 which helps maintain a factory looking stance and a good scrub radius with wheels at or near factory backspacing.
I have the exact same experience with my 33"x10.5" BF Goodrich KO2's. They ride great, are quiet, and provide good traction. I used to run 31"x10.5"s and they were also very good. I was driving them with pretty low tread and they still preformed very well. They also plow through snow with low tread too. There's a reason why so many people run them.

X2 here! I’ve never been stuck with them, but I don’t like extreme mud & I avoid it. I can drive my ‘06 TJ on the freeway at 70 mph with one finger on the steering wheel. ‘Pretty good tires! I just wish they made them in 33”/10.50R15.

‘Sorry about the redundant post. At my advanced age, I forgot that I had already replied. ☺️

Another vote for the BFG K02. I was pleasantly surprised by the traction in everything but mud.
