While replacing the rear main seal on my 2006 LJ with 4.0 engine i discovered that the PO got RTV on the main cap on places it should not be. I cleaned up the rear main cap using Super Clean witch etched the bearing. Should I replace all the main bearings or only the rear? At 145000 miles...

You have changed my mind on this. Exposed wiring is kind of a disposable item anyway. I will do the splice. It is not the same as cutting up an OEM fender.

I hate to do anything to my Jeep that prevents it from being returned to original. If worse comes to worse I will have to do a splice though.
