    2002 Hard start issue

Thanks for the input! Hell, if I didn't like working on this stuff, I wouldn't be driving a 20+ year old vehicle. Love my Jeep.

    2002 Hard start issue

Any suggestions on what to check to determine why this is not happening? Reading that the ECU is what feeds the fuel pump relay. I'll put a meter on the lead after I drop the tank and check to see if anything is happening. Maybe I'm just not seeing the pressure build before it shuts back...

    2002 Hard start issue

I don't want to bore you with another fuel pump story, but I have a question about the operation of this thing. I put a fuel pressure gauge on my 2002 4.0 to diagnose the hard starts. I had the fuel pump replaced by a shop a little over a year ago. Now it's doing it again. The pressure...

    Ignition Key Cylinder question

Had to replace my ignition key cylinder after the old one kept getting stuck. Ordered what I thought would be a good one from a major jeep vendor. Ended up being a Dorman. Paid twice what I could have got it for and had to wait a week. Rant over. Problem now is that when I remove the...

How-to fix an ignition key that won't turn (remains locked)

Had this problem last week. Ended up calling a locksmith hoping to avoid drilling out the cylinder. He used a silicone spray lube and it worked. Was able to remove the cylinder to repair/replace.

    Change NV3550 fluid?

Just a heads up for those not wanting to drop 100 on a gallon of MTL. I bought 2 quart bottles and, using some water filter lines I had, Improvised an "air pump" by driling holes in the lid of one of the quarts, inserting the hose and using my air compressor at 10lbs, forced air into the...

Seeking advice on next step to fix speedometer

Well, it's fixed. Not going to recommend the way I fixed it....but it involved removing the needle and replacing it while driving at a known speed. Really appreciate all the help and suggestions from forum members! Oh, and just in case anyone is as "adventurous" as I am, there is not way...

Not sure if you saw the results of the cluster test.....29-64-84. Pretty sure this is a speedometer issue. Thanks again for your help!

Seeking advice on next step to fix speedometer

I really feel like this is a calibration issue. But I'm not an instrument tech. Would love to be able to recalibrate this thing. There are a couple links earlier in this post to businesses who will service them. I may end up sending it off to see what they can do with it.

Seeking advice on next step to fix speedometer

I pulled the cluster last night (and killed a spider that crawled out). Cleaned up everything and put dielectric grease on the connections. Test drove and same issue. I did the cluster test and noticed the values are high, so I'm really thinking this is a speedometer issue.
