    Gear pattern check and backlash questions

    My backlash also varied and under recommendations on this forum I removed the ring gear, used a file to ensure the carrier surface was flat and smooth then reinstalled the gear. Ran much more consistent throughout rotation afterwards.

    Not a TJ grill but I have a CJ grill hanging on the garage wall. I also made 1/2 scale TJ grills out of 1/4” thick MDF and painted them random colours as gifts and door prizes a few years ago

    Is galvanic corrosion a valid concern for body armor?

    I usually smear a good coating of axle grease over any areas that skidplates mate to the frame or body. I think it really helps to keep moisture out of those areas which will minimize rusting. I do that pretty much anywhere steel meets steel or any other metal.
