Replaced blower motor (positive wires hot at relay)

There are some other threads on here explaining what I did to solve the issue. Essentially, it was a combination of using relays to reduce the current going through the switch and replacing the majority of the wiring.

    Replacement HVAC wiring harness?

Not sure exactly which harness you are referring to but there is one behind the glove box. You don't need to remove the dash to get to it. I completely replaced all of the hvac wiring without removing the dash Remember that the voltage thru the switch and resistor is the ground side of the...

    The Multifunction Switch Blues

Old thread but your timing is great. I had the same issue after reassembling. Periodically, the left blinker would come on solid. I thought it could be the brake but also could just be the springs are worn and the lever is sagging a bit - to the point where it makes contact. I finally gave up...

    HVAC Heater Blower Motor Resistor

Fair point. I stand corrected. The main point I was trying to make was that although a bad motor is often the case, there may be other reason the resistor fails or the wires and harnesses overheat and fail / melt. In my case it was 100% the last leg of the 12v+ to the blower motor that was...

    HVAC Heater Blower Motor Resistor

The advice from @Jerry Bransford is good. Issues with the motor can certainly cause excessive resistance and heat which will destroy the weakest link in the chain. Note that the factory wire sizes used in the HVAC system were adequate at best, when the Jeep was new. Over time, they can degrade...

    I need a blower pigtail

I just used the right size insulated spade terminals and filled the socket with dielectric grease to keep the water out after they were connected. No issues multiple years later

    HVAC Blower Motor Issues

Sounds like it's time to start tracing wires. Look at both the 12v+ and ground sides of the circuit. I'd start on the 12v+ side as the circuit is simple. For the 12v+ side, the relay is behind the glove box. That is a good spot to see if you have both the 12v+ from the battery (underhood fuse...

Blower motor / fan switch high current bypass (critique my wiring diagrams)

Sure. Yellow are going to the fan speed switch. Green are going to the fan speed resistor The one with the lug is actually 4 black wires to the single lug going to a body ground down in front of the passenger door Red is going to the fuse box to give the relays power to energize the coils in the...

Blower motor / fan switch high current bypass (critique my wiring diagrams)

I think I bought 6 ft of each color for the ground side but it was like 15ft to rewire the 12v+ from the battery plus all the relays and connectors etc...

Blower motor / fan switch high current bypass (critique my wiring diagrams)

See the attached wiring diagram. Ground comes from the body to the control panel. The control speed swirltch will only provide a ground if the mode switch is turned on. It then goes to the resistor and from there to the blower motor. To test, I would work backwards from the blower motor. Turn...
