    Johnny Joint acceptable wear

I'm pretty certain that is the end result, and what I ended with. Thank you very much!

    Johnny Joint acceptable wear

There are 2 different scenarios when I disassembled the joints. The first scenario, there were very obvious grease remnants. Those balls were also centered in the housing, or went back to center easily. I found remnants of grease in those, or semi a dried remnants. They also (for the most...

I think I'll follow your maintenance schedule and just see how they do. Thank you for sharing your experience.

    Johnny Joint acceptable wear

Josh, When I removed them, not at all. Rusty and so tight I could not get the ball to center, and had to use a 12" punch to center them in the disassembly tool. After wire wheel the balls, and cleaning the cups w mineral spirits and steel wool, then reassembling, they are very "moveable". Very...

    Johnny Joint acceptable wear

Hello all. My mid arm lift was installed in early 2020. I've been following all the Johnny joint threads and figured it was time to pull my control arms and inspect the joints. I live in Western Washington where we get lots of rain. What I found, and am still finding, is that it appears most of...

    Slave cylinder broken

Mac. I'm hoping to not have to pull the tranny. Trying to determine if this is salvageable. I've never had the tranny apart, so unfamiliar w the way it all lines up inside. I'm going to slide in a camera and determine if this can be slipped back into place before I commit to a new clutch and...

    Slave cylinder broken

Hello all, good morning I was out yesterday playing in the snow and all was fine when I shut the jeep off to take a break and have some chow. When I went to re-start and continue on, something within my slave cylinder broken. There was a loud "pop" then my clutch pedal just dropped to the...

Washington Washington members that live to wheel

I'll wear either a black magic brakes hat or wizard recovery gear hat. If any of you all see a tall, grey bearded dude, come say hi. By the way, mumblewood, you were at snojam and I seen you win something, didn't know it was you until you posted about it on this thread afterwords. I've probably...

Washington Washington members that live to wheel

I would love to say hi. I'll bet there will be 100 buggies and 10 silver LJs. Maybe not hanging together though. I'll be in a green Cascade 4 X 4 club hoodie until I get too wet and put on something repellant. Have not done this event, but am truly expecting the worst traffic jam ever in the...

Washington Washington members that live to wheel

Quick update for anyone who cares. After three days on the Noco, the battery has reached fully charged status. Jeep fires right up and idles like it should. At this point have made plans and am heading to Elbe. You all have fun, hope to catch up with you all when Wildman makes his debut.

Washington Washington members that live to wheel

The Noco has 4 leads to trickle charge 4 seperate batteries at the same time. I've heard horror stories of vette's that won't start after being stored. We don't drive the vette in the winter. I leave the windows down and run the charger thru an adapter I bought to trickle charge via the cig...
