It doesn't have to be "super accurate." I am comparing how my thermostat responds to the one it replaced - using the same gauge.

Why is that? Isn't that a fail-safe thermostat?

It has been working fine for 10 years, so there's that. I don't know what temperature it opens at, only that the needle on the gauge shows it goes a tick past 210 before it opens. It always looks like it isn't going to open - then it does. I don't remember my original one getting that high...

About 10 years ago, I cleaned and refreshed my entire cooling system, and that included a new thermostat. Although the replacement (Mopar) thermostat works fine, it never has been as consistent as the original one was. And it seems to stay closed a tad bit longer than my original one did...

The truth is, Fram had a LOT of issues in the early 2000s. And - if you believe Jerry - they ADMITTED it.

1997 - 1999 are the simplest and most reliable years of the Jeep TJ.

Opinions vary. I think it looks better than that abomination called the JK.

There have been a couple of threads here lately about the Jeep "Icon" wheels that were found on the later-model Jeep Cherokee XJ. This got me to remembering about the canceled Jeep Icon - codenamed JJ - that *almost* went into production in 1997. What do you think...

I think that was done to protect the lug nuts while rock-crawling. Remember that the Moabs were only available on the Rubicon model, and that model was all about rock-crawling.

I can go along with this. But I also think the TJ Moab wheels had a nice concave appearance as well. The JK ones did not. If you compare a TJ with the TJ-style Moab wheels to the JK- style Moab wheels, the look is very different.
