Another "What's It Worth" Thread - 2004 Jeep Wrangler Columbia Edition

Really? With two sets of doors, both with factory mirrors installed; I'd have figgered closer to $14K...

Another "What's It Worth" Thread - 2004 Jeep Wrangler Columbia Edition

The time MAY have come for me to sell my 2004 Jeep Wrangler Columbia Edition. 90,534 miles, clean CarFax, SKIM system, both Full & Half Doors (it came with the Full Doors - I sourced a perfect set of Half Doors when I lived in SoCal, completely stripped the paint and all hardware before having...

What can I do to preserve my soft top?

    Nice "Mr. Mom" channel!

What can I do to preserve my soft top?

The less you put it up and down, the longer it'll last as well. The soft top on my 2004 had NEVER been down - since I've had it the only thing I do is R&R the side windows, in lockstep with switching out the full doors for my half doors.

    My weekend project, heated seats

Bunion surgery (that I've been putting off for ~15 years) on my right foot this past Tuesday - I truly feel your pain!

Can I get a value for my Jeep?

I hate to be a Negative Nellie, but there's a LOT working against you on this one. Salvage Title will eliminate at least a third of your potential buyers; 1997 is prolly the LEAST desirable of the TJ's due to its first year teething pains; finally, although you've done a lot of mods that were...

    Seatbelt saved my life!

On 3-Pedal vehicles I easily switch back to right foot braking...MOST of the time, that is. I raced karts for a few years; between that and switching back & forth between automatic and manual shift vehicles, I seem to have NO problem... Now right hand drive 3-Pedal cars - THAT's tricky! My...

    Seatbelt saved my life!

I don't "ride the brake" - in fact, I don't even touch the brake pedal enough to activate the brake lights. You, or anyone else behind me, would have NO idea that my left foot is on the brake pedal - unless you're tailgating me, in which case I activate the brake pedal enough to turn on the...

    Seatbelt saved my life!

Sidebar: My mother was a professional driving instructor for several years in New Jersey back in the 60's - she worked for the Taggart School Of Driving, and was even voted "Instructor Of The Year" one year. She taught me a VERY valuable lesson when she taught me to drive; to wit: Put your left...

    Seatbelt saved my life!

"Stop, slow down...what's the difference?!" Uh - THAT's the M-F'in' difference! As to your post-accident "verbal appraisal", I can only say "Spot On!" Sidebar (as a watch collector): Is the watch you were wearing okay?

Will TJs ever reach classic status?

In 50+ years of car/truck/motorcycle/RV "acquisitions", including 4 TJ's and a YJ, I'd call the TJ "iconic" rather than "classic" - the latter being a term that's been watered down to where it's questionable where and when to even apply it to a vehicle anymore. I already feel that the TJ is a...

What color are these half doors? (updated: still a mystery?)

Question: What color are ANY half doors? Answer: The Color Of Money!

Upgraded TJ headlights to stock halogen JK headlights

I did so as well, several years ago. I very much like the look, and they DO give off a greater amount of light - both color-wise and pattern-wise - than the stock headlights...

Pros and cons of buying / selling a Jeep from or to a friend

I've sold a car to a friend; no issues when I sold it, and none developed while he had it, which was for ~5 years - a '71 Corvette convertible, for the record... I'm getting ready to sell my RV to one of my oldest & best friends/dive partner of many years - 45 to be exact. I've been through it...
