I installed Scorpion 1.7 roller rockers and it really woke up my 4.0!

I don't know the size of the fan but it is the exact same size as the stock fan diameter and fits in the same shroud

This is the fan I used. Dorman 620-155 Engine Cooling Fan Blade This is the heavy duty clutch I used. Hayden Automotive 2794 Premium Fan Clutch A bolted right on without any problems.

The explorer fan has a heavier duty clutch and 10 blades. It moves more air

I just installed a ford explorer fan and heavy duty clutch. I can tell you that the clutch removal trick did not work for me at all. I had to rent a tool from the local parts store. On the other hand the upgraded fan DID cool my AC down and keep my temp gauge from going over 210 even at idle...

Sounds simple but have you checked for a vacuum leak? I had similar issues with rough idle and almost stealing after it got warm and coming to a stop. Searched for weeks for the issue and it was a simple vacuum leak.
