Wow! I just posted on Marketplace to fish for options. There’s nothing wrong with it except the frame, and I don’t know what it would cost for me to have it replaced. I’ve been told a couple grand for labor plus cost of frame. But if someone wanted to do it themselves they’d have a sweet Jeep...

Update 11/18/24 Second mechanic judged rear frame unsafe to drive on. This is a great running Jeep! I wonder if I can sell as mechanic’s special? Don’t even know how to price it.

Not yet. Seller just returned from I’m following the guidance of legal who say there are laws to protect in cases like this. It was the original mechanic who mentioned it or it wouldn’t have occurred to me. I would have taken the gut punch news. :(

Good thought. What I have priced so far would be cost prohibitive for labor alone. As of yesterday I’ve come to terms with it being a loss and to pursue things with seller.

I see facts don’t line up for sure. That’s why legal action may be needed. Both mechanics said I had a case, especially when ad said brakes and shocks were done in last year but dealership mechanic didn’t see evidence of that. Seller said his daughter drove it 2.5 years but he’s only owned it...
