    Ball joint issue?

My suggestion, if you don't have much mechanical knowledge about vehicles (especially Jeeps), join a local jeep club and ask around. There are numerous clubs with facebook accounts that would be willing to offer mechanical advice or steer (pun intended) you to a reputable shop. Google will more...

STICKY Share Your 3D Design Files (or Sell a DIY Part)

If anyone is rebuilding a Saginaw steering box, I found some 100mm ring clamps and scaled them to 2.75" & 2.00", the sizes needed to compress the teflon rings on the piston and spool valve, respectively. @hosejockey61 's method in his video works but with a 3-D printer at my disposal, why not...

Help needed with identifying seals on Saginaw rebuild

I have a full PSC kit with Blaine's cooling setup and return fittings/hoses in my JK axle swapped TJ. I have no complaints. This new build, however, is a beater and I'm trying to build it as cheap as possible. On a sidenote, Advance Auto Parts pulled through. National "PSK-1" is the kit needed.

Help needed with identifying seals on Saginaw rebuild

Another question for you @hosejockey61 For the lower tap (shallow), I measured the fitting fully seated and it appears that the bottom of the fitting would restrict about 50% of the bore, restricting fluid flow in that passage. Is it worthwhile marking the centerline of the passage on the...

Help needed with identifying seals on Saginaw rebuild

I had not. I went on Edelmann to reference a 99 TJ gearbox rebuild kit. It looks as if the seals are similar to powersteeringseals. This morning, I took a trip to my friends shop. He has a couple of XJ's in the yard. A 2000 Jeep XJ, I could tell that the Saginaw box was identical. Similar...

Help needed with identifying seals on Saginaw rebuild

I spent some time viewing other videos.. Mainly BleepinJeep's saqinaw rebuild. It seems as if the depth of the snap ring is the same. If you speed up to 12:30, you'll see the depth. I purchased the same kit in BleepinJeep's comments but the seals included seem to be the ones needed for a...

Help needed with identifying seals on Saginaw rebuild

I recently tore into a Saginaw steering box pulled from a 1999. After carefully following @hosejockey61 's youtube video, it appears that my steering box has different sector shaft seals. Could anyone help identify correct seals? As you can see in the video screenshot, the snap ring is seated...

    Everlast welders: Who has one?

https://esab.com/us/nam_en/products-solutions/product/torches/mig-torches/standard/classic-4-air-cooled-mig-gun/ 1040-1603 is the exact model number we purchased. I paid $760 for it from my welding shop whereas he had a 12' Tweco 400A setup for a miller which cost $700. We are using Everlast's...

    Everlast welders: Who has one?

I'll give my 100% honest review. I've been a die-hard blue fan for years. My personal welder, in my 1000 s.f. home shop is a Miller 220. It has served me well. AC/DC, mig, stick, tig, and I have a spool gun. It's the perfect welder for an all-in-one setup. My business had a 6 month project...

    Rolled my Rubicon! Need advice

My thoughts exactly. This would throw a red flag to me. Many shops deal with vehicles having dead battery or hell, even say vehicles that won't start. My guess is that body shops today look at older vehicles and don't put more than 1 hour into an evaluation as they suspect insurance adjusters...

    AX15 4.31:1 Low First Gear Conversion Q&A

Could the 4.3:1 be installed in a new or rebuilt AX-15 from Novak? Would it be an add-on cost factor?

    JL axle parking brake

Definitely not the ideal setup, by any means, but it gets the job done. Had I planned it out more carefully, I should have drilled & clocked the backing plate mount a couple degrees to clear the shock bracket.

    JL axle parking brake

I'd make quick work of that little cable retaining bracket should it need to be moved in order to use whatever cable necessary. Also, I'd be happy to share a cut file for the bracket I made.
