What did you do to your TJ today?

Hard to tell if it was poor installation by the PO, or if they just weren’t a good product, but I removed the plastic sill plate protectors about a year ago and was left with this adhesive residue. Finally got around to heating it up and scraping/rubbing it off. Finished with some duplicolor...

I’m a fan. I previously had Toyo Open Country A/Ts on this Jeep. The Kendas are a bit louder, and mileage went down slightly, as to be expected with an R/T tire. I’m in the high desert so a lot of sharp rocks, some sand, and very hard packed clay, also spent a week in Moab last fall and no...

Good eye. My driveway is angled weird and I think the camera distorted the image a bit toward the edge. This is what the rear pinion angle actually looks like:

Got the new skid plate installed. I went with the UCF extra clearance in steel. As others have said on this forum it’s a bigger job than you’d think. All kinds of little stuff needed modified from exhaust hangers to tub clearance to t-case shift linkage, to spring perches, etc. somewhat...

Moved the factory locker compressors to the engine bay in preparation for a tummy tuck. I was able to use the original bracket and mounting hardware with some strategic bending, cutting, and drilling.

Wait you guys aren’t spraying your jeeps with mud before you go offroad?

    That’s problematic for sure.

Appreciate it! Definitely easier to organize/access stuff. Always annoying when tools/recovery gear are inaccessible without unloading the whole vehicle.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Finished the rear platform/storage /cargo retention system for the back of the LJ. More details on the process of putting it together on my "build" thread.

Mostly finished with the rear storage platform. Not many off the shelf options for TJ's/LJ's, and what does exist is ridiculously expensive, heavy, and while it would fit my needs OK (the tuffy drawer), not exactly what I'm looking for. I wanted something to allow two layers of storage for ease...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Sorry for the slow reply - somehow missed this notification. There are a couple of good threads on this forum that I used. The basics: make sure that you unbolt the transmission mount before you start jacking up the engine. To lift the engine I used a floor jack with a 2x4 wedged up against the...

Getting TJ ready for daily driving, LJ for weekend fun - not a rock crawler

Not an expert, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express a couple months ago - so here's my $.02. I said some of this in my previous message, but will provide some more context: I bought an 05 LJ Rubicon with ~55,000 miles on it last spring. My use: daily driver for spring, summer, and fall...

    Finally getting started

Another positive experience with 33x10.5. Like the weight reduction and better on road driving compared to the wider tires. Haven’t had any issues at all with traction offroad when I air down to 15psi.
