Woodrow's 97 Green TJ Moderate Build

I didn't see this thread until I was tagged. TJ6 on 40s with a 4.7 stoker and manual... Yep, that's what I run. No high HP here but it gets me where I want to go including JV and the Rubicon.

    DJ's TJ: Low and Slow

I'd say the build has come a long way from this This is another shot from this weekend while attempting a night run on Sledgehammer. That would have been a very long night had the first two cleared the first obstacle. As it was we turned around and decided to do the gatekeeper on Jackhammer.

You're right, it's been too long of a wait but you did a great job! Shakedown run at JV on some of the hammers is not really so much of a shakedown run as it's a breakdown run.

We're going to see how she works. Bring your nitrogen tank just in case. Just noticed that your TJ looks so much different than in my profile pic. That was a while ago.

    School me on solar

I see production for each panel. I just had a look. It's low today since the weather isn't the best but you can see the generation for each panel. I only have 10 panels.

    School me on solar

I installed Enphase microinverters for each panel and although I've only had the systems installed less than 2 years I'm hoping I can count on the warranty. 25 years is pretty good. Of course, that's assuming the company is around that long. Replacing each microinverter is actually pretty...

    School me on solar

You can see my rates. Add the delivery charge and delivery charges for each timeframe. On Peak $0.72727 Mid Peak $0.537 Off Peak $0.34846 I generate more than I use so mine is negative but without it...

    School me on solar

OP is from CA and they have essentially removed net metering. They even tried to establish a minimum charge to get those that installed solar that have net metering. The power companies are not happy to lose out on revenue and future income.

The battery provides use at night without the need to pull from the grid. Assuming you generate enough to run what you need during the day as well as store power for use each night you can greatly reduce your cost from the utility. Power outage protection is a plus at that point.

    School me on solar

I can add a bit to this discussion. I live in CA (yes I know) and installed solar panels last year. A couple of things when it comes to CA and solar, NEM2.0 ended last year and now we are NEM3.0. What's the difference? With 2.0 you sold your unused generation back to your power company at...

How do I get more power out of my 4.0

Some of us have built them. I assume you want it to be smog legal so there will be a few things to look out for.

97 TJ frame stretch to LJ

I don't have a good answer for you since I don't know enough on the LJ frame but I'm sure @mrblaine knows.

97 TJ frame stretch to LJ

Mike_H is correct, a TJ6 is not the same as an LJ. A TJ6 is the same as a 5" rear stretch on an LJ. It you are looking to drop an LJ tub on a stretched TJ frame you'll need to do the 10" before and 5" after the axle. As far as the details, you'll need to measure to get things right. The body...

    Another TJ6 build

I used either .30 or .35 for the stitching (butt welds). I didn't do to much at one time so went from one side to the other. I didn't have any warping. With the right settings it'll also keep the bead flat without burning through. I did use armor over it though. I'm curious how you are...
