I tried Orielly house brand high mileage conventional oil the last 2 oil changes and it definitely slowed my rear main leak down to nearly nothing. I change mine every 3K and it’s still really clean when I change it. I did go back and forth on trying a full synthetic but have not tried it.

I gotcha. Pulling the complete housing will be easier on you then laying up under it trying to complete the work. I’m sorry but I'm not an ARBoligist so I don’t have any insight on that. I would assume though that if the housing isn’t completely trashed that it could be rebuilt.

Why not rebuild the 35? Doing a super 35 build isn’t that much especially if you do the work yourself.
