The non-step down connector was just fine for connecting the side maker light.

Wiring these lights is very simple, just go step by step, slow down and don't forget to put the shrink tubing on before crimping your connectors ! Blaine's instructions are very clear and straight forward, these lights are a great time to work on your wiring skills.
