Is Rock Hard 4x4 rear tire carrier / bumper still the overall recommendation?

Your solution was mentioned in Post #110 - Cut the shank of the hitch a bit shorter so the holes align without the assembly touching the frame crossmember.. Problem solved. If you are concerned about the strength of the hitch after cutting material from the tubular hitch shank (not really a...

Is Rock Hard 4x4 rear tire carrier / bumper still the overall recommendation?

My Warn receiver shackle bracket fits my Rockhard rear bumper without any issue. So does my drop hitch, although I did need to cut it a bit shorter for the hitch pin holes to align. .

    Winch recommendation?

Don't buy a Warn winch because it matches your bumper. That will immediately identify you as a mallcrawler. Buy a Warn winch because it will work when you need it to work, I use a Warn M8 (M8000) with WRG winch rope, Safety Thimble II, and a WRG hawse fairlead.

    CB radio not receiving

Although CB is old technology, it is still very much in use and many jeep clubs still require CB on their runs despite the trend to replace CB with GMRS. (Cal4Wheel still requires CB on many of its sponsored runs.) In addition, in Northern California and large portions of the PNW, logging...

Viair 400H Onboard Air Compressor Install (Lots of Photos)

"Suspended in the air" is inaccurate. So is your characterization of which is the "heavy end" of the compressor. The end with the motor is actually the heavy end, not the end with the aluminum cylinder and piston. The mounting plate does extend a couple of inches rearward of the fender...

Viair 400H Onboard Air Compressor Install (Lots of Photos)

Actually, for the model years without the emissions parts on the fender it is easier to create a flat horizontal surface than to mount the 400H vertically. I used a piece of scrap flat stock trimmed to fit, using the original holes in the fender...

Now I understand why Red winches range from $2,134 to $6,335. They market to Land Rover and Grenadier owners who need to look good getting to the mall in bad weather. .

Front lockouts or Yukon spin free hubs discussion

My rear chromoly axle shafts were already drilled for the 5x5.5 lug pattern and I was able to sell my 5x4.5 wheels for a decent price, so I opted for the larger and stronger YA-WU-08 hubs, kept my existing 35" tires mounted on new 16x8 5x5.5 wheels with 4" backspace, and installed Black Magic...

What gear ratio should I install in my Jeep Wrangler TJ / LJ? (and other re-gearing FAQs)

You should read your own post history. You come across as an insufferable a-hole. No name calling, just a fact. You might learn something if you ditch the attitude.
