Replaced it becuase the old switch was bad. Lights wouldn't turn on at all. The new switch works when its not installed. If you push the ball on it they shut off. The old switch did nothing. I tested both while I had them out. Plugged them in to the harness and tested. The new ones works when...

Changed my reverse light switch. It shuts off the reverse lights when you press the ball, but once installed won't shut the lights off? What is next? Could the piece in the transmission be broken?
