Bad motor mount or transmission mount?

If your engine doesn’t move much, I’d leave them alone. Used old OEM is often much better than any of the aftermarket options.

Tell me what actual tire you have. Not what they come up as with a tape measure.

What gear ratio should I install in my Jeep Wrangler TJ / LJ? (and other re-gearing FAQs)

I think 5.89s would be basically perfect for 35's with the 42RLE. It's the barrier to entry that sucks about them, though. You need dual 44's to run them, which of course bolt-in is only available from a Rubicon, AND THEN you have to buy aftermarket lockers to run the gears in the Rubi axles...

    Another vibration after re-gear thread

The devil is going to be in the details. You went from 3.07 gears to 4.88 gears…that is a 58% increase in driveshaft speeds at any given vehicle speed. You mentioned “above 50 mph” as a data point early on in the thread, so I mapped out your numbers. At 55 mph, your driveshaft is at 2835 rpm...

What gear ratio should I install in my Jeep Wrangler TJ / LJ? (and other re-gearing FAQs)

I assume Jerry and company would go 5.38 for 33's if it was an option. Before he left the forum, he regularly said that while 5.38 was the best he could do for 35's, it was still barely enough or not enough. The numbers support the idea of 5.38 for 33's, aside from unfortunate high driveshaft...

Bump. Surely someone needs discounted 4.88s for a high pinion.

    4.0 Cylinder Block Interchangeability

That swap will go fine. 2000-2006 TJ blocks are all the same. The problem with people mixing and matching around 97-99, 2000-2001, and 2000-2006 is that they source engines/blocks from XJs. XJs had all new stuff in 2000-2001 as far as the 0331 head, distributorless ignition, new intake manifold...

    Could use a little help

My guess is it has a broken piston skirt.

    Another vibration after re-gear thread

I’ll send you a PM with the info. The spacer definitely fixes the clunk of axle shafts walking, but I don’t think any of that will ever relate to any sort of vibration or bad bearings.

    Another vibration after re-gear thread

Sounds like the regear job wasn’t performed correctly if the bearings are already shot.

What gear ratio should I install in my Jeep Wrangler TJ / LJ? (and other re-gearing FAQs)

Dude, just stop. At this point you’ve already made up your mind and are just seeking confirmation bias to confirm the decision you already made. The response you posted was definitely generated by AI and states nothing useful. Chrysler already decided that over 3000 rpm was perfectly fine to...

I am not billiebob. You quoted billiebob before. You made the claim about engine life, you can be the one to back it up with evidence-based input.
