    There probably was a used 2.4L gear out there somewhere, I just couldn't find it in my time frame. None of the yards I talked with wanted to take a gear off a good engine, and cores are getting harder to find.

    Update, part number on 2006 wrangler 2.4L is 4648939AA - no longer available. Part number on dodge neon 2.0 L gear is 4667604 - readily available.

    Well after much searching. I was not able to locate the 4748939aa gear. However, The gear for the 2.0 is readily available. (Dodge neon 2.0) It is the same diameter and the teeth, shaft, keyway, and timing mark are the same. However, it is about 1/8 in thicker. My solution is to machine down...
