    MTB brakes

Sounds like you've got center locking brake rotors? Thats the only two peace system I can think of, make sure your locking ring or bolts are tight. Always go with a single piece rotor if you can. There should be no motion in any of the brake calipers, however, some rocking motion from the pads...

Christmas presents still getting opened/installed. Fun little project. Dad bought me some SuperBrightLED dash lights, so much better than stock!

    05' JMT's Twin Teenager's Rubicon Build

Well, on Thursday morning l started the removal process of the passenger side torque box. I was hoping it would be a 2-day fix, but turns out, removing your torque boxes is no joke. Removing the fender only took about an hour, it was super easy as long as you remember to remove the 12 bolts and...

Torque Box and Floor Pan Replacement

Great information! I ended up getting those last couple of spot welds under the seat mount bracket with a long bit, then it was pry and play finding the ones l missed. Hopefully drivers side goes easier with my knowing where to drill and cutting the box into smaller pieces. Thanks so much!

Torque Box and Floor Pan Replacement

When you replaced your torque boxes, what were your jack points to lift the tub away from the frame? I know people usually use the torque boxes and gas skid to lift the tub when doing a body lift, but I need some other/more lift points.

Torque Box and Floor Pan Replacement

I think I’ll go with the sheet metal idea, it’s cheaper 👍🏼

Torque Box and Floor Pan Replacement

Thank you, that’s super helpful. Would you happen to know what the section of metal that runs Horizontal to the torque boxes nearest the side of the tub is called? I’ve posted a picture below. if so, do they make replacement pieces?

Torque Box and Floor Pan Replacement

Not sure why they aren’t working for ya, they are made by HECASA and sold on Amazon, should be easy to look up. I know you've done this before, what's your recommendation on some good value torque boxes/floor pans?

    Rust at base of windshield

When I replaced my frame a few weeks ago, I was surprised at how much worse the rust was after I folded back the frame, however, there was absolutely no rust below the frame! I was super happy and credit this to the rubber seal in-between the frame and the tub.

    Rust at base of windshield

I just replaced my windshield frame because I had a similar rust issue. The only real fix is to find a replacement frame and paint it to match. Word of warning, make sure the frame you buy has all the mounting holes for the interior plastics, otherwise you're going to have to fab up some...

Torque Box and Floor Pan Replacement

Thank you for the generous offer, I think I'm going to stick with replacing the whole torque box and just stop the rust at the source. Both ends of the torque boxes are rusted so bad they are missing, so I'm taking that into account as well. If had some spare torque boxes, I'd be down!

Torque Box and Floor Pan Replacement

Finally getting around to tackling some more rusted out areas on my 2005 TJR. For this project, I’m going to attempt to replace both torque boxes as they are resting out around the body mounts, and a section of the driver side floorboard. i’ve been reading through forum posts, and feel like I...

    Steering slop help

Finally got the jeep in the garage today. Did a dry steering test, jacked the jeep up, checked alignment and tried rotating the lower steering shaft for play. It didn’t seem like the joint (roughly in the middle) had any play, however, the input shaft which enters the steering box did show some...

    Steering slop help

Seems like it’s neither. Both seem to rock in unison. Checked my dad’s jeep, and it’s the same, but that’s without doing a dry steering test. I’ll post back later today when l can check for sure.
