I pulled my whole sway bar off when wheeling back in September and have been driving without the front since then. For a daily commuter its been a little sketchy at times and with snow and ice fast approaching I wanted a sway bar again. The one I had was seized in place so I couldn't adjust it...

About to Buy a Dana 30 With ARB

Okay, I think I'll probably be replacing it then, it seems like its folded over on itself and its slightly rubbing on the ring gear. Which I think explains the wear along the sides of the teeth. Also, what else will I need to replace it, do i need new pinion bearings, I know I'll need a new nut...

About to Buy a Dana 30 With ARB

That's the kind of news I like to hear, do you think its even worth it to dive in a and replace the slinger, or does it not really matter, I'd like this axle to last decently long, but if it wont really affect performance/longevity, then I wont.

Ok, That makes so much more sense then what I was thinking, what would you do?

Also, from what I can tell the gears have no damage whatsoever, and the locker looks to be fine, I wonder if this potentially was a case of the bolts working it way out of the locker and pinging around.

About to Buy a Dana 30 With ARB

UPDATE: I went down to PA to pick it up today, not exactly what I was expecting, the guy realized that the sway bar mounts had been laser cut off (not great, but not the end of the world) and that the slinger was pretty torn up (eek) but because of this he decided to just give me the whole setup...

About to Buy a Dana 30 With ARB

Basically what the title says, I'm planning on driving down to PA tomorrow to pick up a Dana 30 with a set of 4.88s and a ARB air locker, As far as I can tell its the older 3 piece style ARB which I've heard mixed opinions on, can someone who knows more about gears/axles tell me if I'm getting...

A few pics from Saturday's trail ride out in Tug hill. I pulled the sway bar off completely as it kept sagging down with the end links disconnected, I’ve left it off until I get the jeep washed but it honestly feels like my ride is better without it. I’ll probably be adding a Anti-rock or...

That was my thinking, I probably put 5-6 coats on, the clamp actually came with paint, everything else was bare steel though.

Yeah, I painted them, I thought that they came with some kind of factory powder coat or something until I pulled them out of the box.

In the time I spent loathing my LJ I did a tad bit of research, and tossed around the idea of picking up a 72-75 CJ5 with a 304 to learn body work on. I still might, but I also might put that into axles (which I stupidly spent that money on a boat, I won’t make that mistake again) and into 35’s...

    Just.Thorne's Tank Green LJ Build

After hating my Jeep for most of July and August, Ive been drawn back to loving it and want to spend copious amounts of money on it again. I have a big charity trail ride with my dad this weekend so I’ve been forced to work on it again. I put a ZJ tie rod assembly on it after having it on my...

I’ve hated my destroyed steering wheel for a bit, planned on getting a new old one off of a grand Cherokee to replace it, but a targeted ad on Instagram recommended “Texas custom interiors” and they’re customizable steering wheel covers. A bit steep at $50 for a cover, but they are custom fit to...

I normally take a wire wheel to the whole frame at the start and end of winter, and get a fresh coat of paint on everything I can reach. Ill probably slap some on again soon just to touch up the parts that got scuffed up while working on it. its definitely a up hill battle with the NY salt and rust.
