No start, or randomly shutting off - CPS? Or something else?

Delphi if memory serves. I'll check the resistance etc, but does seem to be more of an issue when the engines warm, so could be the coil breaking down? I’ll test it with a known good one before I buy another for the sake of it

No start, or randomly shutting off - CPS? Or something else?

Good to know. I’ll order a Mopar one as a spare anyway, but I thought of all my options here that would be the best. The mounting hole is slotted, and I wondered about setting the depth correctly, is there a consensus on how much of a gap between the trigger wheel and sensor?

No start, or randomly shutting off - CPS? Or something else?

Hi all, About a month ago my Jeep quit on me while on my way home from a trip. Conveniently, it wasn't far from my parents place, so I towed it there and got home. I "knew" the fuel pump was on its way out, the check valve was on its way out, always needing a few key turns to prime it...

    Insurance Question to the Community

I was thinking about how you insure vehicles in the US, specifically modified ones when you have no "safety checks" Say for example, you weld on new control arm brackets, but actually don't know what you're doing, and said control arm bracket fails and you lose control and damage another...

Fuel pump not priming, but Jeep still runs (eventually)

Yep, I'll grab a Bosch replacement. Fuel filter was a while I'm there thing/don't know when it was last changed kind of thing. Check valve explain the lack of easy starting, but not why it doesn't seem to prime with the key on at all? If the check valve has failed, shouldn't I be able to prime...

Fuel pump not priming, but Jeep still runs (eventually)

My Jeep seems to be going through tough times at the moment. The current issue is the fuel pump, it use to prime very audibly (no carpet or rear seats) Now I’m not hearing it at all, and the thing won’t fire, just turns over. After that, if I turn the ignition off, then on and try to start it...

Spares to carry in tool kit

Depends what kind of wheeling you do, but after I found myself in here... I now carry a spare starter motor... (fortunately that one only gave out when I got home)

If Nissan made a turbo diesel style Jeep the Patrol Would you buy it?

They don't exist in NZ/Aus or Japan anymore though. New Land cruisers are luxury SUVs I think you get the Lexus variant? New Patrols are luxury SUVs. I think they are Armadas over there? You can still but new 70 series land cruisers, but they are predominantly aimed as commercial vehicles that...

If Nissan made a turbo diesel style Jeep the Patrol Would you buy it?

Yea, typical Patrol owner... Its a 90s Nissan patrol. They come short and long wheel based versions, lwb come with a normal or high roof option. And they're prime candidates of having the rear chopped off and a "ute" tray with a canopy installed. I see the "overland" trend is quite big now...

If Nissan made a turbo diesel style Jeep the Patrol Would you buy it?

Me or the video? I was going to re word my comments, but then thought na, we're talking about NZ/Aus 4wd, so I'll use our terms. Haha As for the guy in the video - Urban dictionary "Bogan" and you'll see why GQ Patrols have been ruined for me.... And I should have added, all things equal in...

If Nissan made a turbo diesel style Jeep the Patrol Would you buy it?

GQ Turbo diesel Patrols (we call them Safaris) in NZ are known to be kettles that overheat on the most minor inclines. In saying that, I think its because they're all owned by young "boyracers*" that traded in their skylines when the cops cracked down on them, as a result, they're not well...

32-pin PCM connector: Where can I get a new one?

I posted in another group which suggested Ballinger motorsports. The seem to have the connector itself, just the pins, or a complete pigtail. However, listed for a Powerstroke, so may not be quite right. And it was like $150 , which is to be expected. I’ll be off to pick-a-part. For $10 can...

32-pin PCM connector: Where can I get a new one?

My no start issue turned out to be the ignition coil driver signal not making it from the PCM to the coil. A PO has had hacked at the PCM connector and their "repair" failed. I've repaired it again, but not much better. Will I be able to find a complete PCM connector? and the pins to go with...

97 TJ 4.0 has no spark when hot

Good info Jerry, I'm having a very similar issue, although mine has nothing to do with temperature. It ran, now it doesn't... Same issue with no 12v at the coil though. Your diagram is better than the ones I found, so will use it to hopefully solve my issues tonight. What is the C104, S126...

No spark, but this time the coils not getting power

After finding out parking is free at work during these times, I thought I'd relieve the wife of drop off duty and take the Jeep. I dug the roof out, spent 40 mins wrestling it on, replaced my plywood half doors with the real ones and backed out the driveway. Half way up, the engine cuts out...
