    Johnny Joint acceptable wear

That’s about how most of mine looked after about a year. They were near impossible to move and creaked like the dickens. I now disassemble and grease them twice a year because I hate the creaking. The “pitting” you see is how mine looked too, even when fairly new.

    Finally, new paint

That's awesome. I aspire to paint mine someday. Just not sure I'm ready for all the dust and sanding yet.

    Finally, new paint

Looks amazing! Would love to see other angles too.

Upgraded battery cables worth it on non-wincher?

Winches have their own cables straight to the battery so that factor is irrelevant. I would only upgrade if your factory ones are in rough shape. I upgraded (can’t remember the gauge but they were thicker than stock) and did notice faster cranking but that could have been because my stock cables...

Calling all TJs with 5.13 gearing (or deeper) that had or currently have vibrations at highway speeds

5.13s checking in here. I’ve got the 42rle and 231 with a jb super short sye. I’ve also got a Dana 35 pushed as far back as possible so my driveshaft length is probably a bit longer than average. Mine is very sensitive to pinion angle. I recently drove with the spare tire removed for a few weeks...

Transmission to radiator cooler fittings for aux cooler

I have some PTFE 6an hose (since the rubber lined 6an hose I installed two years ago with my Setrab cooler started cracking, crumbling, and leaking in three different places within a month) but it has almost no stretch and won't fit over the factory barbed fitting. At this point I think I am...

Transmission to radiator cooler fittings for aux cooler

Not quite. I am pretty certain that what I am looking for doesn't exist but I figured I would post up anyway.

Transmission to radiator cooler fittings for aux cooler

Anyone know what the fitting interface is for the 03 04 (and earlier?) transmission cooler line to radiator? I can't seem to find anything on the size and I am beginning to assume it is one of a kind. Ideally I'd like to find an adaptor coupler that is this size to go into the radiator cooler...

    Pentastar V6 in a TJ

The 3.6 is not half bad. It was built for fleet use and it has been out long enough to have a very proven track record. It’s one of the last port injection engines so the injectors and manifold don’t get all gummy. I wonder how well the 3.6 and 8 speed packages in the tj. If it would allow for...

What dry lube do you use with your SwayLOC?

Like I mentioned I had to take apart the latching mechanism (silver part that slides back and forth) so I could get the trapped mud and sand out. After running the trail though I had a rubber deadblow handy so I was able to hit the slider back into the slot that puts it into the firm position...

    Brassworks heater core

Thanks this is great info. I’m going to swing by a shop today if I have time to have the ac drained.

    Brassworks heater core

The 20 degree drive home late last night and this thread have me motivated. One question I have before starting is—does the ac evaporator core need to be disconnected in order to get the heater core out? And do I need to take the Jeep to an ac shop first to have the AC depressurized? If so that...

    Brassworks heater core

Sorry I haven’t had the time yet. I need to do it soon though because winter is in full swing now here. I had to apply anti fog to the inside of my windshield to help with visibility as a temporary fix.

    Tool deals

Those inflators aren’t half bad. I have one that I use in my 4Runner. We aired down to 18 psi (stock tires) for Imogene pass and that inflator brought everything back to 35 in less than 15 minutes.
