Power hungry 4.0: how to give it what it wants?

A little off topic but still sticking with the inline 6 subject . . . 292 GM or a 300 Ford in a TJ? Lots of proven speed equipment available. Why follow the flock?

    Powersaws - what's everyone using?

    Bob Walker . . . Walker-ized !

    Rear view/compass mirror.

Looking at the rear view/compass mirror in a newer Toyota truck, they appear to be from the same manufacturer as the TJ article. Compass is on the opposite side, but the mirror looks the same except for the mount to the windshield. Stem, housing and function appear the same. Anyone tried the...

Here's an 8ft Simonds 'Royal Chinook' . . . . it's never been 'in wood'. This is a falling saw, bucking saws were a little deeper with a straight back. Cardio? you bet!

    Powersaws - what's everyone using?

Little story here . . . . our group were doing some Provincial Govt. Timber Sales just north of Powell River, BC. Seven guys, all able to do any job involved in these time limited logging operations. The regular log scaler and bucker had gone 'out' for some 'home time' and I was doing the...

    Powersaws - what's everyone using?

Different regional terms used in this thread . . . Canadian west coast lingo: 'cut up' is a tree with the undercut and an incomplete back cut with wedges usually. It and other trees close may be left the same way until the faller lays a 'pusher' into the whole mess. I'm guessing your reference...

    Powersaws - what's everyone using?

Bob Walker was a faller in his early years and later founded 'Walker's Saw Shop' . . . sadly he passed away last fall. His hotrod saws were known far and wide.

    Powersaws - what's everyone using?

Just curious as to the saw(s) you run and their/your application. You've "seen way too many incidents" . . . just wondering what type of work you're involved in. Thanks As a note, before chain brake saws were around, many fallers/buckers used the bend/twist techniques to minimize kickbacks.

Wondering if you've had anything from Walker's Saw Shop in Nanaimo? Bob built competition saws, and tweaked Husky saws for production.

    Powersaws - what's everyone using?

When putting the backcut into that big fir 'nugget' with a double dogged saw, there's a slight risk of splitting the saw with a dog set above the cut, and another below when that 'nugget' begins to tip over . . . heads up, stay safe!

    Our local mountain

Camels were used during the Cariboo gold rush in British Columbia. They didn't work out well and some were turned loose and observed for some time afterword.
