Has anyone ever used a hand winch?

I carried one similar this for many years before getting the winch . I believe the handle on mine extended to 4 feet .

    It's all about me

You are correct , this has been going on for years . It's the same with people throwing trash all over the roadside . I can remember the tv commercials from the early 1970's addressing the issue of littering .

    It's all about me

It's really sad to see people leaving trash and destroying the the beautiful places that they visit . This is the main reason places get closed to all of us who love and respect our public lands .

    MountaineerTom's 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

In my last truck I changed out everything , but that was because my compressor locked up . Everything is too expensive to take a chance that some metal fragments didn't get flushed out . Probably not a concern in your situation, but new hoses and a dryer wouldn't be a bad idea along with the...

    Winch recommendation?

I suppose it just depends on how much you want to spend . I went with an Open Road 13.5 based on reviews from Matt with Ozark Overland Adventures . He has been using them for years with great success . They seem to hold up well with heavy use . Mine was around $300 and will be lightly used ...

Any Ideas? GMRS mobile radio mounting locations

Being retired from the Fire service and an EMT for 32 years I am very familiar with the different accident scenarios . This was before and after the addition of airbags . One also has to take into consideration that newer cars are designed to absorb the impact. With 3 major highways and 2...

Congratulations to John Cooper on winning the 2025 Ride of the Year (ROTY) contest!

I prefer not to hit them hard , it makes such a mess . Honestly , I prefer to go around if it's an option . If not , that's what the winch is for . In my younger days I built mud trucks and really enjoyed getting them nasty . Now , I prefer not to have mud in every crevice it can find .

    CB radio not receiving

I believe the new cb radios with FM would work great on the trails , however GMRS is the new norm . You can even get a cb with tone capability that allows you to tune out unwanted radio signals . GMRS has the advantage of good range , excellent clarity and easily talks to the FRS radios which...

Advice on possible purchase LJ vs LJR

That would be a tough choice to make . I would probably keep the orange one that you know and invest in it . I passed up a low mileaged orange LJR in 2013 when we bought ours . At the time I couldn't justify spending the extra $5k . If I had it to do over , I would buy the LJR .

TJ ride quality issue – spacers, mixed shocks, and minimum lift for 33s

As stated earlier , compare suspension movement with and without the shocks connected . This will give you an idea of how your spring setup is working .
