Please help me build my AC parts list (Jeep had factory air)

Thank you! I just went and ordered most of the parts last night. This list helped, I just modified it to 1999 parts of the same type. The only thing I'm stuck on is the stupid suction hose that runs from the compressor to the accumulator. It is nearly impossible to find. I have looked on...

Please help me build my AC parts list (Jeep had factory air)

Do you have a parts list from what you replaced? That's what I'm after. The kit that I can find is $1,000. I assume I can get it a little cheaper if I do it without the parts that are needed for inside the cab. I don't need the HVAC controls, for instance. I know I need the...

Please help me build my AC parts list (Jeep had factory air)

Thanks for the reply! Why do I need to pull the evaporator? Is that just to replace it because I'm doing the rest of it? The Jeep came with AC. It just has the under hood parts removed. As for a vacuum pump and gauges, I was thinking of installing everything and then taking it to a shop to...

Please help me build my AC parts list (Jeep had factory air)

I have a 1999 TJ that has an AC system that didn't survive a frame and body swap (built the Jeep from several Jeeps and didn't want to fight to save a crusty AC system). All I have right now is what is in pictures. I cut the lines going to and from the heater core on the accumulator side of...

    No bus link

@sab Thank you for tagging me here. My NO BUS issue has not come back. Although I'm still battling other wiring issues (no dash or instrument lights work, airbag light is on, horn issue, etc). @The Flying Scot I bought a wrecked 1999 TJ. The frame was shot, so I sourced another 97-02 frame...

Every time I fix something, another part breaks. Now I lost my low beams.

I just lost my low beams, but my parking lights, turn signals, high beams, emergency flashes, brake lights, and license plate light all work. What happened? I was dealing with an instrument cluster that wasn't working. I rewired that with a brand new twisted pair of wiring from the PCM to...

No bus issue: what haven't I tried yet?

This is finally resolved! It ended up being a broken wire somewhere in the loom between the PCM and gauges. I don't know exactly where, and I don't care at this point. I just wanted a working instrument cluster. What threw me off is that the data link connector (OBDII port) worked fine, and...

No bus issue: what haven't I tried yet?

Hey all. Just getting back to this now. The Jeep has been parked for a while as it wasn't running right. I pulled the PCM and sent it to Mark at Wranglerfix, just to rule that out as an issue. Everything checked out fine. After putting it back in, I chased the issue with it running poorly...

No bus issue: what haven't I tried yet?

Hey all, First, big thanks to this community for all the help you have provided so far. For those that haven't seen my previous posts, I bought a wrecked TJ and essentially built a new one from scratch using the drivetrain/interior/wiring/some body parts from one, frame from another, tub from...

Working through final wiring issues on my build and I'm stumped

Thank you everyone that spent the time walking me through this. And especially to Sab for going above and beyond with a phone call, text messages, and the patience to show me how to better understand the wiring diagrams in the FSM. I don't like reading through these long threads to not find...

No crank from ignition but will start by jumping the starter off the battery - engine RPM went through the roof

Hey! I did. I have another post that got very long (100+ replies I believe). To summarize, it was an issue with a ground wire that broke near the transmission, in combination with an intermittently working ignition switch.

Working through final wiring issues on my build and I'm stumped

Or I guess I won’t be replacing the switch. The one I waited a long time for isn’t even close to being correct.

Working through final wiring issues on my build and I'm stumped

BIG UPDATE!! There appears to be no less than THREE separate issues on this Jeep that are causing what I am chasing down. For the heck of it, I popped the ignition switch out and tried starting it with a screwdriver. It fired right up! It did not do that before we found the ground issue at...

Working through final wiring issues on my build and I'm stumped

Update: New multimeter purchased. Results: - G105 to the BR/LB wire on the back of the PDC: 0.00 ohms - G105 to battery negative post (as requested earlier): 0.00 ohms - Battery negative post to BR/LB wire on the back of the PDC: 0.00 ohms. (audible beep to confirm a circuit) - Edited to add...

Working through final wiring issues on my build and I'm stumped

Suggestion...do you have a neighbor with another multimeter you could compare results with? With another meter we could quickly see if there's any discrepancy between the two...there will be some... I just got out of my meetings. I'm going to go run and buy a new one.
