They also make little cowl scoops that can help with that.

    Door hinge replacements?

Yeah, the whole goal is to replace then after paint. I think I'll just rattle can what I've got and replace the broken/painted pins at this point. Not keen on the button heads on the bottom hinges otherwise I'd probably have already bought the kentrols. Glad that was pointed out.

    Door hinge replacements?

They're seriously overpriced. Dealt with them quite a bit building my half doors and won't bother with them if I can help it at this point.

    Door hinge replacements?

Interesting. Thanks. So it sounds like either would work, but maybe has more to do with which mirrors I'm running? Also, that's a little annoying that they aren't both countersunk. It's a much cleaner look.

    Door hinge replacements?

Problem is the insanity of getting factory off a door. And around here in CO, I'm paying the same premium for used, if I can find them. Have gone with kentrol for headlight baskets and a hood footman loop. Both were of solid quality. I'll take the gamble on hinges for half doors.

    Door hinge replacements?

Looking at getting some Kentrol powder coated stainless door hinges. Anyone have thoughts on these, besides the price? The real question is, are these actually early/late TJ specific? I see hinges listed as half door, full door, and half and full. Then I see 97-02 hinge sets and 03-06 sets. I...

What is this on the positive terminal of my battery?

I have the response. "Warn recommends wiring direct to the battery due to the high amp draw required to run them. Most of the winches will pull over 400 amps when under load and we have not found any fuse or circuit breaker that will reliably handle that."

What is this on the positive terminal of my battery?

Correct, not disputing that or saying anything different. It was more of a guess as to why they (mainstream manufacturers) say wire directly to the battery, for when it IS in use, reducing points of failure. Like I said earlier, I never had any parasitic draw on my old Jeep with my warn wired...

What is this on the positive terminal of my battery?

If I had to guess, it's purely a matter of drawn power from the winch and removing any additional points of failure. But, I don't know shit so... I took the liberty of asking Warn. I'll reply should I get some reasonable useful response.

What is this on the positive terminal of my battery?

I never had any safety stuff on my CJ as it pertained to my winch power, and once my dual terminal yellow top came loose from the battery hold down clamp and fried on the winch leads. I realize nothing would have saved me in that scenario (beyond a better method of securing the battery), this...

Opinion on rust on prospective purchase

I'll echo the other replies. Looks more than reasonable for a 20+ year old frame based on the photos. If you grab it, get to work with a wire brush, then coat it with one of the various rust prevention options on the market and call it a day if you feel inclined to. I wouldn't bat an eye at it...

    Vibration when letting off throttle

Skipped Flagstaff. Went to Holbrook and headed to Phoenix from there. Phoenix has some of the nicest roads I've ever seen. Guess they tend to last when the only weather that exists is hot.

    Vibration when letting off throttle

Thinking you're right. May be in my best interest to buy a couple. I got many miles ahead of me. Can really afford to change them now, but if they outright fail, I'll have plenty of time. Lmao. Already in Gallup. But yeah, the roads here are pretty gnarly. These rough country shocks are not...

    Vibration when letting off throttle

On my way from Denver to Phoenix. Made it to Albuquerque. I noticed at 65+ I have a vibration when I let off the throttle. Just had an alignment done, and figured that would resolve it but it did not. It's not in the steering wheel at all. Any ideas?

And I found many a thread with that. I swear, I have the hardest time finding anything in here with the forums search functions.
