So my 2005 LJ was throwing an error for the Camshaft Position Sensor with a check engine light. I replaced the sensor with a brand that didn't work, so I then replaced it again with the NAPA branded one. Worked great for about 100 - 125 miles, and then today the check engine light came back...

I'm throwing in the towel here, I'll just have to bring it to my shop and have them do it. 3 rounds of PB Blaster and pulling on it with every tool I have and it won't budge. I think it's just too corroded for my skill / strength level.

Mine does look different than that, mine is similar to this style.

Does anyone know how the camshaft position sensor come out on a 2005 LJ? I removed the one bolt, and I've been pulling on it with my hands and pliers and it won't budge. Does it just pull straight out? Or twist? Or something else? I can't seem to find a YT video on actually getting the sensor...

Anyone have experience with the Rock Hard bumpers? How is the quality / powder coat? Looking for something with gas can holders, and they seem decent from the photos.

Got the borescope today and took a few photos using the side access holes. Definitely takes some getting used to maneuvering it around. Will remove the bumpers, clean out the frame and then redo.

They haven't come back yet, the hard start, and the RPMs dropping to almost a stall at idle is gone. So I'm hoping not.

Just wanted to close the loop on this post, it did end up being the battery and all the crud on it. Once I took care of that, all the codes disappeared. Thanks for the help.

Thanks all. I did purchase a borescope and a sewer jet, so i'll give the inside a flush and look and see where I stand. Would certainly be great to not spent $5K+ on a frame and be able to use that money for other parts instead :)
