    Cruise control buttons

For those with earlier model TJs, it looks like the cruise control (CC) buttons are a different design. I was also having the same issue where it seemed like I had to push really hard and leave it pressed for a few seconds or in a very specific spot. For reference, I have a '98. Removal of the...

STICKY Share Your 3D Design Files (or Sell a DIY Part)

I designed a simple 1mm spacer to further separate the two contact pads for the TJ horn switch. This works for a '98 at least, but hopefully it works for other model years. If you'd like to learn more, I created a thread in the how-to section on how to gain access to the horn switch.

How-to add a spacer to the horn switch on your steering wheel

Hi all. I had the issue where the horn would constantly blare. Troubleshooting led me to determine my horn switch was always closed. I designed and printed a 1mm spacer to add some more separation between the two contact pads and now it functions properly again! To give credit where it's due...

    Cylinder Head Rear Freeze Plug

After 2 years, I finally drove the Jeep into work today! Lowering the engine worked like a charm and I was able to get a new freeze plug installed easily. Really, it was trying to reinstall the engine onto the mounts that put my project on hiatus for over 1.5 years, coupled with general life. I...

What have you 3D printed for your TJ?

I use the free version of fusion 360. So far for basic modeling I haven't run into any shortcomings or blocked settings behind a paywall. They just recently changed it so you could only have something like 5 or 10 open projects at a time. Otherwise you need to put a project on hold or something...

    Cylinder Head Rear Freeze Plug

I think my coworker just really wants me to pull the engine lol. That way it "makes it easier" to change intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, clean the damn thing, and search for the source of a high idle I'm also experiencing. Yeah it might be easier but I've never pulled an engine before! But...

Oh that's an idea. I can replace the head gasket while I'm at it too. Thank you!

    Cylinder Head Rear Freeze Plug

So I'm in the middle of replacing the clutch, clutch components, and RMS on my '98 SE (2.5L / AX-5). As I was cleaning the oil pan and back of the block, I noticed this "thing" on the back of the cylinder head was semi-popped out. I asked my coworkers what this was and they said it was one of...

    97-02 Battery Hold Down

If you haven't found a solution yet, you could order only a used OEM bracket bar. Looks like they're on ebay for $20 and then you can use whatever j-bolts/nuts you currently have. The P/N for the bracket is 5501 4361 (pg 111 in '02 parts list pdf which is found in the resources section of this...

    Why do I need a locker? I thought I had four-wheel drive!

Thank you for sharing this writeup with the community. I was wondering if you still share the same opinions as your previous self when you wrote: I'm sure with a stock Dana 35, this statement rings true, but do you think a built-up one would be sufficient enough to handle a locker?

    Hello from the Florida Panhandle

@MallCrawlOnTons Oh yeah once it stays a little more consistent those doors and top are coming off real quick! @Chris So far it's been really good to me! It's my first time moving out of NC so it was intimidating at first, but the people here are nice and the area does remind me of home a...

    Hello from the Florida Panhandle

Hello everyone! My name is Eric and I recently moved from Eastern NC to the FL Panhandle for work. I had my quarter life crises and bought a 1998 SE almost 6 months ago. Let me tell you, I've been loving every minute of it! It's my first Jeep, first time driving manual, and will be my first...
