Sounds like I do need to go to 31s, I sure don’t want to blow my automatic transmission. The previous owner told me it was a ‘rock crawler’. I know little about jeeps. There is however many pounds of undercarriage protection.
I’m still new to jeeps so bear with me.. I’ve purchased a 2005 TJ set up for rock crawling, but now need to start flat towing it a good deal. It has a 3 1/2” Rusty’s long arm lift kit with 33/12.50/15 cepek trail country tires.

So I brought my 05 TJ (208k miles) to a local shop since I discovered a loose tie rod joint. Mechanic says I indeed need tie rod ends, but I also desperately need all new ball joints. Quoted me $1300…. Is that a fair price?
What is the least expensive way to fix this issue? This TJ has 208k miles and now only does maybe 100 miles a year off-road duty with maybe 200 miles per year on road. Ashim suggested replacing whole system with rockjock currectlync, but with installation, that will be $1k. Can’t do that...
