    First Jeep (2004 Rubicon)

Yeah I'm aware I just haven't changed them out yet. The previous owner put those on and ironically enough he is a veteran, I thought he would have know that.

    First Jeep (2004 Rubicon)

It’s been a fun summer with the TJ. I just put the full doors back on for winter along with the soft top. I realized I haven’t posted a picture with the rock crawler bumpers and winch so here it is. I think the only project I have on deck for this winter is a new stereo. I’d like something with...

How do I strap my TJ to a trailer?

I thought you cross t safety chains so that if the trailer becomes unhooked then the chains create a cradle for the trailer tongue so it doesn't drag the ground and rub the paint off??? Before you jump my ass, that is all sarcasm.

How do I strap my TJ to a trailer?

I would assume put it on jacks like you're taking it off the back of a truck, then drive the trailer out from under it??

How do I strap my TJ to a trailer?

I use straps through the factory moab wheels. 4 seems totally overkill but 2 seems light. I've considered going around the axle in the front then 2 wheel straps in the back. The only reason I don't go around the axle in the back is because there's not a good way that I've seen because of the way...

Best Option for Towing My TJ

The rain held off so I just pulled the top up and left all the windows out. I ran 75-80 the entire way with 0 issues, I definitely overthought this process. I think coming from towing boats and the cover/no cover debate had me messed up. The weather wasn't the greatest last week so I didn't get...

Best Option for Towing My TJ

I figured I'll just cruise at 75, I don't have anything to be in a rush for on this trip.

Best Option for Towing My TJ

Thanks for the comments, I've always thought that towing with the top up, windows in, and no uppers would maybe create a parachute effect inside but I have never tried it. As long as there's no rain in the forecast for the drive down I'll probably just take the top off and set it in the garage...

Best Option for Towing My TJ

When I search towing threads I mostly find threads about towing something with a jeep, I'm probably overthinking this subject but it doesn't hurt to ask. My dad has a new car trailer he wants to take to the lake house for storage and I'm staying down there for a week after the 4th so I thought...

Local shop won't use my parts

It's either that or cut the shaft Factory shocks have a sleeve over the shaft. You can obviously cut the sleeve and accomplish the same thing. But when youre trying to do something as simple as remove front shocks and the 5min job turns into 30 min of cussing, breaking a shock in half is a...

Local shop won't use my parts

Take the bottom bolts out then grab the shock and pull it towards you, the shaft will snap off. After that you can put a set of vise grips on the shaft to keep it from spinning.

    My peeves with the TJ

These are my only 2 issues also, stepping over the rocker panel to get in aggravates me every time I get in/out, and it's one of those things you never would notice until you have to do it. Other than that everything else is a known "jeep thing" IMO. If ya don't like certain doors the good news...

How can I get a smoother ride and go down in lift height?

A lot of people here, including myself, have done the 2.5" lift consisting of OME springs with Rancho RS5000x shocks. I love it so far, drives great (for a jeep) and it looks good with the 32"(ish) tires IMO. That being said I love the looks of your jeep how it is, I'd consider working on your...
