    PlastiDip spots

I did my Ravine rims about 4 years ago. Street driven jeep with low mileage. I don't rotate in the spare, so that look brand new still. The other 4 held up pretty well to the road. Red stripes hand painted on the plastic-dip went well also. First coat light, next two were a little heavier. Good...

    Radiator cap / heater core

Update: Went through the entire summer and winter with the 10lb cap, and had no real issues, (initial question asked). No overheating in the summer, and plenty of heat in the winter. Still had the annoying initial anti-freeze smell briefly upon warm-up, but maybe a bit longer...hard to gage it...

    Moog or Detroit axle?

I had a bad experience with Detroit Axle, and would not recommend them. Yes, I know that their pricing is very attractive, But I've learned my lesson. I had inferior parts, and a bad customer service experience to go with it. (Not my thread, so I will only elaborate if requested).

    Hardtop or soft-top?

While I do agree that the hardtop will help to sell the Jeep, if most in your area are running soft tops, and you can get a good price for your hardtop, then I don't think I'd hesitate. Just make sure that you get high price for it, or don't do it. Just my $.02.

    Canadian side Niagara Falls

Taking as trip to Niagara Falls, Canadian side this summer with the wife and teenage kids. We plan on doing behind the falls, maid of the mist, and just hanging out to enjoy the views. I would also like to check out/tour the power plant. Looking for any pointers on that, and if there's...

To cover or not to cover

I do agree with the "personal opinion" on this. When I got my TJ a few years back it had seat covers on, front and back. I left them on for a bit. Just for haha's I pulled them off, and discovered that the seats were in perfect condition. So nice of the previous owner to never use the seats...

My turn to post a “won’t start” thread!

Great to hear you got it going again. (y) I am just seeing this thread now after the problem has been solved. I do have a somewhat relevant question though. If the ignition switch is in question, you jump the starter and it fires up and runs....is there a possibility that the ignition switch...

    Did I buy crappy parts?

Probably nothing, again, it's just what I do, and wasn't put out there as a solution. Certainly all taken out of context, and apologies for that. I wasn't throwing out my occupation out as a "stick in the mud" or being superior to anybody at all, just as perspective that I don't just simply...

Can't agree with you more about the rotors for certain.

    Did I buy crappy parts?

Yes, clarification... When I say sand, I actually lap them on a surface plate with grit paper. Being a machine shop foreman for the last 25 years, I have seen 1st hand how perfect brake pads aren't right out of the box. I have been doing this for many years and have had zero issues. Something to...

    Did I buy crappy parts?

FWIT....I sand all new pads before installing them. I do agree that you have to bed them as well. (Funny the bleed, bed thing.) As far as I'm concerned, so far Detroit Axle has been about as good as most other middle of the road parts. Their prices are hard to beat.
