    Multifunction Switch (MFS) issue

Thanks for the help everyone! I replaced the MFS relay and all is well. I just replaced that one about a year ago with one I got from AutoZone. And I had to go back to AZ for this one too. My wife just told me to order “a good one instead of the one from …” [she pauses searching for the name...

    Multifunction Switch (MFS) issue

Not sure what happened, one minute everything was fine, the next a guy pulls up next to me (in a JKU) telling me I don’t have brake lights. I was on my way home anyway, so I checked and neither the turn signals, flashers, not the brake lights worked, but the tail lights worked. Turns out the...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Today, I installed a new Adams Extreme Duty front driveshaft. Now, the ol’ TeeJ rides smooth as silk!

Looking for input on an off-road capable, daily driver build

Absolutely! I drove from 4WP home, packed my camping and recovery gear and went straight to HF. Had a blast on Saturday and Sunday. If you’re in CP, I’m not far away (near 620 & Parmer). Holler if you ever want to go wheeling.

Looking for input on an off-road capable, daily driver build

UPDATE: Just got the Jeep back from the shop on Saturday and here's the final build: 5.13 Yukon gears 30-spline, G2 chromoly axles front and rear ARB air lockers front and rear ARB CKMA12 compressor ARB diff covers I can't believe how much better (and quieter) it rides and drives. It's like a...

Is it possible to have a true dual purpose Jeep?

I'll second this from @JMT. After running my 2003 on 31's for about a year and a half, I recently upgraded to 33's and what a difference! I have a lot more fun off road with the 33's. Granted, with the big change from the stock (~28") tire size, the gearing needed to be upgraded as well. I just...

Looking for input on an off-road capable, daily driver build

I'm confused. I contacted a respected local shop about getting this work done, and got some info that leaves me scratching my head. Maybe y'all can help. He's trying to steer me toward Eaton e-lockers vs ARB. (Maybe it's an availability issue.) He spoke highly of Eaton, but I'm still leaning...

Thanks for the breakdown! Instead of a rubicrawler, I think I’ll put that money towards something else.

Looking for input on an off-road capable, daily driver build

I like the 33s and will probably stay there. Probably. I can’t see going any bigger than 35s, but even that’s a stretch… literally. I’ve got short legs and it’s hard enough to get in the Jeep as it is XD

Looking for input on an off-road capable, daily driver build

Lots of great info here, folks! Thanks to everyone for the input and suggestions. I’m thinking the Super 35 rear will save a good chunk, and will help me justify the extra for the disc brake conversion. For those who have re-reared: How did you determine the optimal ratio? If I’m correctly...

Never heard of a rubicrawler. What is it?

Looking for input on an off-road capable, daily driver build

Thanks for the input @JMT ! We have some decent wheeling around here. I love to drive out to CO and wheel/camp there. Hoping to make it to Moab this year. My main goal right now, is to get this highway-ready to make it to Jeepers Jamboree in July to do the Rubicon Trail. (Just for clarity...

Looking for input on an off-road capable, daily driver build

Now that my 2003 X has become my daily driver, I’m looking for some advice on ways to create a more capable off-reader that still holds its own on the highways. I live in Central Texas, so being able to drive 75mph is a must if I’m going to get anywhere. Right now, I’ve got the 4.0L with...
