Need advice on front suspension overhaul

I’m in the same boat as OP. Stock everything for me too. Is it worth getting an adjustable front track bar, or just a fixed length moog. Also when I do a dry steering test it almost looks like my track bar moves in the axle mount hole… how do I remedy that?

My NV3550 is going to fail, need replacement

How hard is the Novak AX15 swap for a noob? I have all the tools I need, a garage, jacks and stands. Is it pretty doable for someone who’s never pulled a transmission before? I’m no stranger to wrenching on cars, but never done a transmission. I’m thinking of doing the swap when my NGS370 bites...

    1st or 2nd gear start-offs

1st is so short in my 6 speed 05 that I start in second a lot of the time. My mustang will do 60 in first and I know it’s a completely different type of vehicle… but dang I’m not used to shifting so early

    Weird Low Idle Issue

I think I have the same issue. Car drives fine otherwise for me. When you blip the throttle to raise the RPM slightly does the engine feel way smoother? My side mirrors are vibrating just sitting there idling but if I very slightly give it some throttle it’s the smoothest idle known to man

    Gapping iridium plugs

Yeah. I used to tune them too and the ecoboost is really sensitive to what plugs/proper gap. I’d always do one step colder with a slightly more narrow gap because it would widen pretty quick if you pushed over 400whp. People in the ecoboost space were basically taught to never trust the...

    Gapping iridium plugs

I’ve always gapped them to spec and just put the XP985 plugs in my 2005 4.0 this past weekend. Gapped them to .035 with a wire gap tool. They came with a way too small gap of .025. Just be careful with them and you’ll be fine. My old turbo ST used to EAT plugs every 15k miles and the gap would...

What are good LED headlights for my TJ?

I think I’m gonna order a set of these… however I’m torn on the two color temperatures. The warm one looks more period correct and the cooler is more modern. Tough choice for me haha.

2005 rear steer (bad track bar?)

No, stock height and stock pitman arm and steering components. I’ll look up what bump steer is though

2005 rear steer (bad track bar?)

Would rocking it forward and back show anything on the track bar? Control arms are new and I thought that’s what affected the front/back movement and the track bar was side to side.

2005 rear steer (bad track bar?)

Me again, Slowly getting all the issues sorted out but one thing that’s happened from day one is sometimes when I hit a bump or dip in the road when going 30+ the rear of the jeep almost doesn’t track with the front. The back wheels aren’t sliding, but it’s almost like I have to counter steer...

    Is my throwout bearing bad?

I feel like an idiot now haha. I didn’t even notice it could have been a flag nut. Never seen one that long haha. Thanks!

    Is my throwout bearing bad?

I figured it out. It’s a piece of metal rubbing on the rear of the exhaust… is this supposed to be welded on? I bent it out of the way in pic #2 so it’s not rubbing and squeaking anymore. Went for a drive and it’s gone. I’m confused what it’s for though. Is it connected to my hitch so it...

2005 fuel gauge not reading correctly

No gas spitting. Just the pump clicked off early. This thread would imply that my fuel gauge is accurate though, and it’s a splashback issue. Guess I actually am almost out of gas then haha

2005 fuel gauge not reading correctly

Any way I can test a sending unit without having to drop the tank? Is there any chance the gauge is accurate and the pump is just clicking earlier due to splash back/pressure in the tank due to clogged vents?

2005 fuel gauge not reading correctly

I’ve searched some other threads but I’m not sure I found one with this exact issue. Took a little day trip today and my Jeep was a little less than 1/4 tank full so I stopped to fuel up. Put the nozzle in and it clicked off after only 5 gallons. I started up the jeep and the gauge was showing...
