    Trail Navigator

I started years ago with DeLorme map books and a hand held GPS that would show my location coordinates and bread crumbs. I then bought a Garmin Overlander GPS and later the DeLorme Earthmate app. They don't need a connection to load maps as both of them can load TOPO maps for the US. Both are...

Where is the fog light switch on my 2004 TJ?

Yes, just replace the switch with one that that works with fog lights. TRQ is the brand name. The switch is pretty easy to change. There are several YouTube videos showing how to do it. You may have to install the fog light fuse and relay if they are not already installed. Here is a link to...

    2004 TJ 4.0 Straight 6 Radiator

My original radiator blew it's top a few months ago. I ended up replacing it with a Denso radiator from Rock Auto. My TJ is MT. Radiator was for an auto but still works fine. I did leave the plastic shipping plugs in the tranny cooling line ports. No problem keeping my TJ cool this summer...

OEM style diff covers with drain plugs?

I use the lower fill plug. It matches the original cover. I think the upper fill plug is used if you change the differential angle for a lift, etc. Yes, the drain plug is magnetic. I bought these because I figured since Dana also make the axles they probably have it figured out. And the...

OEM style diff covers with drain plugs?

I put these Dana covers on my XJ. I have a Dana 44 Dana cover on the shelf for the rear of my TJ. I used the Lube Locker gaskets and didn't have to mess with RTV.

Advice on purchasing my first TJ

Off hand I'd say that looks pretty darn good. I'm thinking if you're able to get a solid, mostly rust free Rubicon for under $10K than that would be a very good deal.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Lol! More than you would think. Quite a few ranches, dairies, etc. around here. Dairy Farmers of America even opened a powdered milk plant here. Other side of the fence in the first pic is BLM land. Open range cattle often are roaming around. Sometime I'll throw moldy hay over the fence...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Thankfully we don't get that kind of snow or wind here. One of the reasons I live here.

    Clutch / Transmission Question

I thought so too. Good enough I dropped off a case of beer for the crew later on the day I picked it up.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Not really. There are steel tabs at each corner with 3' long rebar anchors driven into the ground. This Mare Motel is anchored the same way and has been there several years through some pretty good winds.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Does this count? Built it a shelter. I didn't like it baking in the NV sun. I had some sheet metal laying around. Had a local livestock panel guy fabricate these for me. Some 16' 2x6s from Lowes and here it is. About the cheapest way I could get one done that was big enough for my little JD...

    Clutch / Transmission Question

My 05 was making weird noises related to the clutch pedal. I figured throw out bearing. To old to be laying under vehicles now days so I took it to a local Driveline and Gear Service place. He recommended LUK and he did the whole works for $925. TOB, pilot bearing, pressure plate and...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Picked mine up this morning from DriveLine & Gear Service. For awhile it's been making some bad noises. Turns out the throw out bearing was toast. Figured I would have the whole clutch replaced while it was cracked open. At 71 I have no desire to crawl around under a vehicle so I let them do...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Hmm, the clutch should come off after you remove the bolt. I had no problems with it. The pulley on the other hand has a circlip on it. You'll need some decent snap ring pliers to get it off.
