I've heard a couple people around campfires say that big power and big tires, the axle ratio should start with 4.xx.

It is hard to see where the wear mark ends on the pinion, but the wear marks look only part of the way on the pinion teeth. Vs my old 4.10s. The teeth are shiny on almost 100%.

When you set up a shaved gear set, do you set the pattern on the ring gear in the middle drive side or the a 1/4" from the middle of the tooth?
