    Still Overheating

I’m sure I learned it on here but after replacing a radiator, water pump and thermostat this is what finally solved my minor overheating problem.

    Still Overheating

https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Burp-your-cars-cooling-system/ That’s a pretty good explanation, running the engine with a funnel of coolant in the radiator to release any air in the system. I used this kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I40ZQWE?tag=wranglerorg-20

    Still Overheating

Have you burped the coolant system? I was having overheating issues but not as extreme as yours and had air in the system and after burping the overheating went away.

    New Tire Shopping: 31x10.5x15

Thanks everyone. Lots of suggestions to look into. Another option is to wait until February and get the KO3 when it’s released in a 31”. I still have plenty of tread left but Discount Tire wouldn’t rotate last time since the tire are 9 years since manufacture and 8 years on the LJ. I’m a...

    New Tire Shopping: 31x10.5x15

It’s time for new tires on the LJ. For the past 8 years I’ve been running 31x10.5x15 KO2s and have been completely satisfied. At this point I’m leaning towards staying with 31s. I’d love 33s but it doesn’t make much sense when I think about it logically. The Jeep is not quite a DD but close...

I still check in some and receive notifications. Haven’t been as active but have just been driving the LJ instead of working on it 🤣 I do have all the parts to rebuild the front end so at some point I’ll do that and be back around.

State of Cats 2023: Evan Fischer?

I’ve actually put this project on the side burner for now. It was a proactive replacement so I was spending money elsewhere

Getting a dog in a TJ

He’s doing good, well at least as good as a big, cranky, GSD can be. After that first trip he started jumping up into the passenger seat and then climbing into the back seat on his own. He’s has entered adult stage and put on about 25# to weigh in right at 100# these days. As he approaches 6...

Do I want a new audio system? Switch speakers? Add a subwoofer?

Upgrading our stereo was one of the first and best things we have done for the LJ. I have this sub under the back seat https://www.crutchfield.com/p_777B8PTD/Sound-Ordnance-B-8PTD.html?tp=114 I also replaced the factory sub in the center console with an amp to run the other 4 speakers.

State of Cats 2023: Evan Fischer?

I need to replace my muffler and exhaust pipe that have rusted out. The piping and cats back to the muffler are showing some surface rust as well and at 20 years old maybe on limited time so I am looking at replacing the entire system. Jeep is a 2004 with the 4.0, not in a CARB state. It looks...

Front axle rotated changing control arms

Worked on it today and everything went together fairly painlessly. I loosened the front lower arms a little more and made sure the washers were out of the slot and put the floor jack under the pumpkin and put some light pressure on it, pushed on the passenger tire some and the passenger side...

Front axle rotated changing control arms

I was changing out my control arms and screwed up. I had all the rear and the front lower done one at a time with no problems. I had changed the front passenger upper and was torquing it down to 60 ft lbs when the rear bolt broke in half. Without thinking I pulled the driver side thinking I’d...
