    42RLE Overdrive Mode Flakiness

It was the Throttle Position Sensor In hindsight I suppose this makes sense if the computer is getting an incorrect reading from the TPS then the RPMs and gear could be managed incorrectly for the given speed and actual throttle position. Anyway - if you ever have a similar behavior with your...

    Wobbly Passenger Seat Solution

I too tried the Stableseat 3d printed bushings and they worked - for a few months. And then they broke. This is the best way that I have found to replace the seat bushings : Solid like a rock and they slide forward and up as they should.

    42RLE Overdrive Mode Flakiness

For those who are pre re-gear (like me), what is the best to engage the OD mode? While still in park or after movement is already underway. When I am out tomorrow I will take note of how much the RPMs rise when pressing the OD switch and report back. Hoping that would help determine if this a...

    42RLE Overdrive Mode Flakiness

Hi friends, I have been experiencing some strange flakiness with the O/D functionality on my 2004 LJ - hoping someone here might have an idea for me. The problem I'm experiencing is with the functionality of my O/D switch. When I am driving around town I will press the O/D switch, the light...

    $3200 for a re-gear?

I'm currently in the market for my 04 LJ so I called and chatted w/Martin. He quoted $1600 ... and it sounds like he knows his stuff FWIW.

What are good LED headlights for my TJ?

I bought the Quadratec branded lights and they work as advertised. Easy to install, much brighter than stock: https://www.quadratec.com/products/97109_0002_14.htm

    California Santiago Peak

I was up in that area a few weeks ago and it was nice. Didn't go all the way up to Santiago but the views toward the ocean were excellent. Pretty easy to drive, nothing too technical or complicated. I did run across a few careless drivers headed down the hill so be alert and listen for opposing...

    Handheld GMRS recommendations?

All good, as long as one is willing to put in the time and effort required for HAM licensing. If the HAM test is out of reach (time, cost or otherwise) - GMRS is a decent fallback option. I agree with your statement on not depending exclusively on GMRS/HAM as a lifeline which is why I carry...

    Handheld GMRS recommendations?

Prepare to be underwhelmed :-) For the price I would HIGHLY recommend buying a pair of the Midlands at the same time and doing some A/B testing on range and then return whichever pair was the low-performer. Its much better to test the range of your radios around your neighborhood before you...

    Handheld GMRS recommendations?

Personally, I prefer the Midland series GMRS radios. I did a ton of testing last year with a couple of "higher" wattage HAM radios, and a few different "high performance" antennas but the off the shelf Midland's outperformed everything else. Plus you can pair the handhelds with their 12v mobile...

    Looking for snow chain recommendations

I've used the Z-Cables in the local SoCal mountains and in Mammoth (other side of Kings Canyon) with great success : https://peerlesschain.com/light-truck-tire-chain/super-z-lt

New fog lights randomly turning on

Like @dvngdg said ... you have 3 options: 1) Buy a new multifunction switch and replace it 2) Remove your existing multifunction switch and repair it 3) Disconnect your fog lights PO did #3 and I did #1 when this happened to me

What's a good-value GMRS, and can play it through my speakers?

I did a fair amount of testing various GMRS options last year against HAM options like the Baofeng along with various antennas and the hands down best performing radio configuration in my tests were the stock Midland GMRS units I currently have a few handhelds (for the kids) ...
