I really have no idea. A quick estimate (UPS.com) from Seattle to MP, ground, is $230, but I just used 35x12x24@100lbs. I have never shipped anything like this. There are a couple on eBay right now that might be better deals all in.
Strongly agree here. I am just calculating risk at this point. Any decisions I make are on me in the end. But having some good people chime in is really helpful.
I am not daily driving the TJ but it may see more road this week with the incoming snow!
I am not opposed to Metal Cloak, I just want to date other fender flares. I think it's when the rear gets stretched a bit that will influence other non-jeep specific decisions, like trucks and trailers. And by the time I get there, my '03 will be a collector vehicle.
I still appreciate the diverse perspectives of this group. Thanks for helping me think about this. Selfishly, I am trying to plan some big things and really want to avoid a trailer, lol. If all it costs is ~$135 every once in a while, 🤷♂️
The State Patrol's website explains the law in those terms. So I get it. If I play the odds, I'd probably be ok.
What's the 30 year thing? Collector vehicle?
Thanks for the feedback. I am a ways away but I caught a bit of a rock crawling bug and have been pushing the jeep through harder obstacles. Which has got me thinking a bit differently about which direction I want to go.
Quick question for Washington folks. Regarding the fender laws, does anyone know if this is considered a moving violation? I know what the law states and I found the ~$135 penalty, but I am not sure what the residual risk is regarding increased insurance rates. I am not really worried about it...
Sunday is a no go for me. I was thinking about heading to Walker tomorrow morning but that is iffy. I am taking the week off and have aspirations to try the Cashmere to Ellensburg section of the WABDR but that might be a real stretch. lol
I am not going to make it out this weekend at all. Hope you guys have a good time. I noticed that we are forecasted to get snow on Monday up here. I wonder if Evans Creek will see any on Saturday or Sunday. Should be a good time.
